Claude Code found every photo i "permanently deleted" from my iPhone.
almost 4 years of photos and videos sitting in a hidden cache on my
device. any app with file access can read them.
plugged my iPhone into my MacBook for a backup. had Claude Code running
a security scan from my last post. it flagged something i never asked
it to check. a directory called PhotoData/Thumbnails with over 152,000
files. photos, videos, screenshots. all stuff i deleted.
2022. 2023. 2024. 2025. photos i deleted within a second of taking them.
photos i went into Recently Deleted and cleared manually. photos i
deleted twice because i didn't trust the first time. all still there.
what was sitting in that cache:
a passport photo for a visa application in 2023
bank app screenshots with full account numbers visible
private photos i sent someone and deleted the same night after a breakup
a crypto seed phrase screenshot i took "for a minute" in 2022
my ID and credit card side by side, deleted 10 seconds later
my ex's private instagram stories i saved and "permanently deleted"
in 2024
152,417 files. some at full resolution. all organized by date going
back to 2021.
when you delete a photo on iPhone, iOS removes it from your camera roll
and your Recently Deleted folder. but it keeps a compressed copy in a
Spotlight search index cache. that's how your phone finds photos when
you type a word in search. Apple never clears it. not after 30 days.
not after a year. they told you it was permanently deleted. it wasn't.
checked which apps on my phone had Files and Folders access. 19 apps.
weather apps. QR scanners. PDF readers. a flashlight app from 2021.
any of them could've been reading every photo i ever "deleted" this
whole time.
went from 19 apps to 3 in about a minute.
full step by step is below. takes 2 minutes. bookmark it so you don't
lose it and send it to anyone with an iPhone.
I CHECK EVERY AIRBNB WIFI WITH CLAUDE CODE NOW
takes 2 minutes and it's kind of addictive
check into a place, join the wifi, open claude code and ask "list every device on this network and what each one is"
most of it is boring. the tv, a couple of smart plugs, the router. but you see the whole list, and the one box that doesn't belong stands out fast
last trip one device was from a company that only makes ip cameras. didn't love that
how to do it yourself
1. join the wifi, open claude code, paste the prompt in the first reply
2. it lists every device and flags anything that looks like a camera or a mic
3. if something looks off, lights out and run your phone flashlight over the smoke detectors, clocks and chargers. a lens glints back
you won't remember this at 1am in a strange room. bookmark it now
this only sees your own network, nothing else. just a traveler checking the room they rented
ever found something weird in a rental? what did you use to check

People are calling chazm schizo (schazm, W) but he's low-key right. I'm gonna rant, if you agree you agree, if you don't you don't.
I barely see any content creators actually express any disappointment about the state of the game. I'm as excited for D.mon and the map reworks as much as everybody else but Overwatch is becoming a shop Simulator and another Dress to Success rather than them actually caring about the game, the Esport, and it's ecosystem. It's not the competitive game I played as a teenager anymore.
We've gotta talk about OWCS, the reduction to 6 teams in the league has done irreparable damage to it, knocking Partner teams down to the second division, albeit temporarily. There's also nobody who cares about and wants to invest in the game, why would anybody? There's literally an OWCS team called "1234"... I'm assuming because they can't find any beneficial org or sponsor to actually fund their time, which is just sad. Do you think that would happen in Valorant Champions, League's top flight, or even RLCS?
This iteration of the world cup is also laughable, teams are literally begging for donations and funding to fund basic things like travel to bootcamps, and even the bootcamps themselves, since when was it the responsibility of the playerbase to fund such things? It works because they're passionate, but my god is it disheartening to see.
Playing competitive has no meaning anymore, people don't try to win as since the introduction of Challenger Score, the game has rewarded people who simply play the game more over people with higher winrates. I know I go on about this all the time, but it's what genuinely stops me from logging consistent hours on the game.
The ecosystem's a joke, promotion and relegation of Faceit league is INCREDIBLE, but they've announced that teams that are literally in LOWER TIERS of Faceit league can earn just as much as those above them, and players in the second division (Masters) work for MONTHS to eventually end up with something that wouldn't even fund one Manchester night out. Again, would Valorant Challengers, League Tier 2, or even Call of Duty Champions would survive with that payout? I also didn't know the OWCS Promotion/Relegation games were even happening yesterday until they started, and that's as someone who's pretty integrated into the community, imagine someone who isn't. There's next to no advertising for it.
Their priority went directly from trying to make a great game and competition, to trying to constantly advertise their shop for money. Probably to meet Activision/Xbox's financial quotas.
The fix isn't for Blizzard to simply throw money at the Esport, it'd help of course, look at EWC (infinite oil money glitch) but it starts with them approaching the game with genuine passion for the competition again.
It's becoming increasingly obvious to me that no content creators are talking negatively about any aspects of Overwatch because they're essentially on a "legal" undisclosed payroll from Blizzard, using the exclusive Twitch Drops system as a loophole.
Blizzard's exclusive OWCS co-streaming drops were given to 91 streamers and the rules say that "Co-streams will be monitored by the OWCS to ensure all guidelines are upheld, including maintaining a positive environment."
Then right after it says "We reserve the right to remove co-streamers from the program at any time."
Essentially they're saying "Maintain a positive enviroment when streaming our game or we will remove you from the program".
Now the question becomes: why wouldn't they just give Drops to everyone if they're already going to give them to 91 people?
Because they can add or remove you from that list at any time, for whatever reason they choose.
When streaming with exclusive Drops, you can see a massive increase in viewers and as a result revenue. Potentially up to 10x your normal viewership.
Blizzard doesn't necessarily have to directly pay a streamer or explicitly tell them to speak positively about the game, but they control access to something that can significantly increase a creator's revenue.
At any point, Blizzard could take away your exclusive Drops access, and your viewership and revenue could plummet as a result. Even if Blizzard never explicitly threatens to do that, the incentive is still there.
After not playing the game for a year or two, I came back and immediately noticed the blatant lack of quality, terrible ranked systems and scummy monetisation Blizzard has been pushing lately and yet I noticed almost no content creators talking negatively about it.
I'm not calling out the content creators for this or saying they're purposefully glazing the game for money. The point is that there is an inherent bias created by this system, whether it's conscious or not.
So when listening to or reading any content creator's opinion about Overwatch, do some research into whether they have access to these exclusive Drops. It doesn't automatically mean their opinion is dishonest, but it does mean there may be an undisclosed financial incentive and conflict of interest behind it.

it's 2021, you queue into pros, your rank glows and the number shines, you wanna play tracer but see onigod on your team so you give him tracer because he's simply better, then you see sparkr on the enemy team so you be like oh shit, i gotta lock in, miss those times...
it's also funny because 2021 was not even ranked peak era but there was good matchups like this, also imo ranked peak era was when dafran was actively playing and reaching crazy heights (4.7k-4.8k SR)
many things I miss about prime overwatch:
- kabaji rank1 worldwide
- chipsa raging and calling everything op
- kephrii accusing everyone of cheats
- shadder vs necros aka messi vs ronaldo type shit
- throw for dafran
- necros the fastest genji on his prime
- seagull most popular ow streamer
- xqc prime winston juggles & rein shatters
- aimbotcalvin insane dps player & chill guy
- moonmoon classic
- iddqd crazy widow/mccree
- sinatraa insane tracer
- effect insane korean dps player
- harbleu chill guy & top tank player
- taimou insane dps player
- ryujehong best ana worldwide
- geguri a girl played in owl & got accused of cheats
- miro was considered one of the best winston players
- jay3 theres a bug on you
- fitzyhere sombra shenanigans
- metro unranked to gm soldier score 732-719
- carpe the god of dps
- fleta the god of flex-dps
- pine the god of widow
- saebyeolbe the god of tracer
prolly forgot something but yeah, good old times

That’s because it’s being increasingly controlled by billionaires and conservatives to shape the minds of the youth and manipulate the masses as a whole.
It’s social engineering to placate the working class and force us to settle for whatever little scraps they deem for us.
I think players chase the A game way too much, instead of asking how do we improve our B / C games more. You will have A games 15% of the time as a team if you aren’t grinding hard. It’s more likely your team will play B game level 70% of the time and C games the other 15%.

I'd also argue that people care too much about instant gratification and try to do too much at once.
Think of progressive overload, 1% better every day, start with a default and slowly improve it, you'll get farther than expected faster than you'd think.

Feeling behind as a coach usually comes down to one thing: comparing your day 200 to someone's day 2,000. Esports moves fast, new metas never stop. A coach who keeps learning never gets left behind. Experience is overrated next to staying curious.

Game theory explains why improving yourself rarely fixes your outcomes. People keep treating their own skills and discipline as a dominant variable because it's the one they can consciously control. They end up running never-ending optimizations but leave the whole structure around them untouched. Suddenly, they are the shiniest object in the room, but it gets them nowhere. That's because a diamond in the mud is still part of the mud. Cleaning it and putting it back to where you found it changes absolutely nothing. Hence, you must change the structure. Swipe the whole room clean; toss out the junk. Ask yourself which environment converts what you already have into a return and what it would cost to move there. Don't spend a decade improving yourself while covered in filth. The structure around you either works for you or against you. There is no middle ground.

Game theory explains why working harder inside a broken system is the worst response to that system. Because a system is never truly broken. It's just producing exactly the outcomes its own incentive structures were designed to produce, whether intentional or not. Working harder inside this system increases your output in the payoff matrix, but it simply won't change the actual structure of the system's matrix. Thus, the correct response is not more effort. Instead, you must aim to identify whose interests the current structure serves and position yourself in favor of those interests rather than against them. Change the game, or play the game that is actually being played. Either way, you must stop optimizing for the game you wish it to be and start acting realistically.
