Austrian soldiers actively participate in UN-peace-keeping missions such as @UNIFIL_ in southern Lebanon.Their efforts are essential for international stability, in crisis hotspots. We condemn in the strongest possible terms today’s very serious incident, presumably caused by Hizbollah or affiliated groups and we demand a swift clarification of the circumstances that lead to it. Our thoughts are with our injured soldiers and we wish all of them a speedy recovery. The safety of blue-helmet soldiers must be ensured, at all times.

Outraged by today's attack on @UNIFIL_ resulting in eight injured Austrian peacekeepers! The safety & security of the blue helmets must be guaranteed at all times. Attacks on @UN peacekeepers are a grave violation of international law and totally unacceptable.

Very concerned about draft legislation by the Israeli Knesset regarding #UNRWA. Effectively halting their vital work in #Gaza and the West Bank will not add to #Israel’s security and stability.

As the fighting in the #MiddleEast continues, civilians are paying the highest price. This has to stop❗️   Very alarmed by continued reports of attacks on health centres & hospitals. Civilians, incl. health workers, must be protected at all times. A ceasefire is urgently needed!

We once again condemn the repeated attacks on @UNIFIL_ peacekeepers. Their presence is mandated by the @UN Security Council and everyone is obliged to guarantee their safety & security at all times! We have again made this position very clear to our Israeli partners.

Extremely alarmed about hits of and close to @UNIFIL_ headquarter and positions, resulting in two injured peacekeepers - this is completely unacceptable and has to stop immediately! Everyone is obliged to ensure the safety and security of the Blue Helmets at all times!
