“South America deserves a World Cup. We have good stadiums, good vibes, good countries. It would be an amazing experience. Maybe somebody can produce a bigger cheque. Maybe rugby needs that, but this would be a vision decision not only based on economics."

🆕Exclusive: South America to bid for the 2035 or 2039 World Cup; shared between Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Brazil.
I met Gus Pichot to discuss that, R360, Nations Champ, 'Greatest Rivalry' & rugby's selfish 'survival mode'.
Gracias @AP9_

No-one ever lifted a finger to help Argentine rugby. Kicked out of Super Rugby. None of their players based at home. They must be exhausted. But they play great and stylish rugby. Sporting nobility.

Feel officials are looking to use yellow and red card cards rather than give players benefit of the doubt. The game is far quicker, cleaner and safer than it’s ever been ( with amazing medics) so rugby collisions will happen especially with two men in the tackle. Spoiling games.

“Que inviertan en EEUU me preocupa cero. Lo que no quiero es que se perjudique el rugby sudamericano”
“Cada libra de WR en Sudamérica se multiplica por 500. No hay corrupción, no se dilapida la plata. ¿qué más hay que hacer?"

Referees should have to do press conference after games like players and coaches

For a TMO, with the benefit of time and replays, to deem this perfectly fine is inexcusable

"World Rugby foots bill for upgrade to travel" business class for the 🇦🇺 Australia & 🇳🇿 New Zealand's women's teams.
As WR are not gifting this to all teams (🇧🇷 Brazil won't be travelling business class) this appears to be a blatantly unfair and bias use of WR funds.

….and so it begins 👀 - This wasnt unexpected but still shocking - 3rd in the world 12 months ago too not existing 🤦🏻♂️🤯 - Clear consequences of @SVNSSeries failure at 7’s leadership level & its event strategy. - Sadly with the road we on I don’t think this will be the last one😢

We’re excited to share that Fortescue’s Green Pioneer, the world’s first dual-fuel ammonia-powered vessel, has arrived safely in the UK—leading the charge in decarbonising global shipping. A bold step towards #RealZero.
Now in Southampton for inspections, the Green Pioneer will soon head to London to showcase its groundbreaking technology.
As Dr Andrew Forrest highlights, “Green ammonia is the future of shipping,” and today, we prove that future is here. 🌍

So not the fact that we don't have a global calendar. Constant law changes and no inclusion of smaller developing teams like Georgia , Portugal, Uruguay.

Worried about clubs going into administration? Nope. Worried about growing the game in new markets. Nope. Worried because one team uses subs. Yes. No wonder rugby isnt going anywhere as a sport. The administrators of the game are stuck in 1950.

Team ranked 11th in the world getting humiliated like this is a dreadful look for the World Cup and for rugby generally.
Five or six teams competing at the top for prizes and a sea of mediocrity underneath is not a sustainable model for any sport.
