ALT It is with a heavy heart we acknowledge the passing of Kīngi Tūheitia Pōtatau Te Wherowhero VII. Moe mai rā e te Kīngi, okioki ai. Given the events of the past week, we have made the decision to postpone the announcement of our 2024 APRA Silver Scroll Award | Kaitito Kaiaka finalists and our APRA Maioha Award | Tohu Maioha finalists. This decision is in acknowledgement of Kīngi Tūheitia’s incredible legacy and influence across Aotearoa, of his official burial tomorrow, and in particular the significance of this event to our Māori members. There are many Māori members among our finalists and we wish to allow them the space to recognise and respond to these events in their own time. We also wish to make sure their wonderful work is given the space to be recognised. We have not made this decision lightly and appreciate your consideration on this change. We hope you are able to join us in celebrating our finalists next week. Ngā manaakitanga, Anthony Healey - APRA AMCOS Aotearoa
