What pisses me off about the PSYREN anime is that the music, sound design, and direction are all pretty good, and even the animation isn't THAT bad. It's just the damn art direction and character design! If I didn't know better I would think it's a Project No.9 anime.

I'm complaining cause I do like it, and wish it was better. I can already see why this was such a cult classic as a manga.

Recaps like this often imply a rushed project, and that makes no sense to me here. Psyren wasn't exactly a hot topic... I don't understand why they would set deadline they can't meet comfortably for it's production.

#CyberpunkEdgerunners2 Final thoughts: For the most part, I was liking it more than season 1, even more creative and inspired direction, way better pacing, and I was loving the characters at least just as much. But I can't help feeling like the story didn't tie up very well....

Binging Cyberpunk Edge runners II I actually liked the first even more than Season 1s, It feels better paced so far. This is going to be some good shit!

The two story lines don't collide in a satisfying way by the end, and Roman's role felt sidelined by the end. It was almost like the writer didn't know what to do with him in the climax. I want to cut the story some slack because this is a significantly more ambitious...

narrative structure compared to season 1, and it still manages to feel better paced, but I can't ignore how much less impact the finale had this time around. While I do like this season more, in almost every single other way, I think for the ending alone, they are equal. 8.5/10

Making an entire arc about the mind numbing pointlessness of living for revenge, and then following it by making me want a character as dead as possible, is fucking incredible writing but also fuck you. One more episode to go.

Huh, funny. I expected my heart to be ton into pieces but that ending was... as happy as it could reasonably be actually. I'm a bit conflicted. It's not a bad ending, but it felt a bit... out of the blue? It definitely didn't live up to the impact of Season 1s ending.

I feel so fucking bad for this poor guy. He got bullied into never writing again because people disliked "ONE" of his works, which wasn't even that bad, and now he won the anti-lottery of diseases. He's only in his 50s so he's not even that I old. I really hope he beats it.

*small correction, he got bullied out of writing anime again. He's still working on some VNs. But it's still extremely fucked of the internet, and not nearly enough people know about how shitty people were being back when "The day I became a god" came out.
