Today we had a designer suggest that we purchase real marble for a piece of prop furniture. A LARGE piece of prop furniture.

We're waiting for rehearsal to end and my scenic designer is singing me the one man version of the Mikado. It's not bad...
Sound Des: can I go pull a frying pan to create the sound of a spittoon? Me: why don't you just go pull a spittoon? #lovemyjob
It goes along with using waaaay to many staples when reupholstering a piece. I've done that too. Sigh.
When you alter a prop you made years ago & curse yourself for using the smallest possible stitch on the sewing machine. #IDidThisToMyself
The designer upon us discovering (halfway through build) that he's designed a prop too wide for any of his entrances: "oops". #OopsIndeed

Also stop with the passive aggressive bs. We're all on the same team working toward the same goal: to put up the best product we can.

When we ask a question about specifics it's not for fun, it's because we actually want to get you what you need. So, please answer them.

Dear SMs, The prop shop is a service dept. but we can't provide the service (props) unless you give us the info we need (reh notes).
And then there was that time at strike where scenery ran a batten into the 2 chandeliers and broke them into many pieces. No, really.

They keep changing opening. First it was the 4th, then the 8th, then the 9th and today they mentioned the 15th. #wtf
Nothing will make you appreciate your regular gig than one poorly managed freelance gig. This can't open soon enough. #MakeItStop

Working on a freelance project. They said, "we have tools". I ask for a utility knife, they had me a 4 pack of bad kitchen knives. #ummm #no

It's all Christmas, all the time. 3 Christmas shows at once. I have already wrapped my weight in empty boxes. #BahHumbug

TD pop quiz: do you program your automation cues in before tech reh, or during tech?
I just realized that when we talk about getting out of tech, we ask to be "released" from tech. It's kinda like being let go from text jail.

Oh, & your 80 minute one act only has about 10 props in it, but we've been sitting down here with you for days. Ugh. #so bored
IMO it should never take you 3 days of tech, including a 10/12 to cue through an 80 minute show. Never. Sigh.
