The relentless expansion of the global population is placing unprecedented strain on our planet, intensifying critical challenges such as climate change, ecological collapse, and various other issues.
Biodiversity, a crucial indicator of planetary health, has already surpassed critical thresholds. Measures such as Biodiversity Net Gain and the protection of 30% of the Earth’s land and seas are urgently needed to address this issue.

Many people understand that we are in a climate emergency. However, scientists believe that ecological collapse is an even more significant threat.
Wild animals now only comprise 4% of the world’s mammals’ biomass, with humans comprising 34% and livestock a staggering 62%.
This is precisely why measures like the UK’s new Biodiversity Net Gain legislation for development sites are so important.
However, more must be done to improve the critical state of biodiversity internationally.
