He has really impressed me and I’ve only been on the same text chain as him for a week. Follow him and subscribe to his articles. They are all fantastic but he is really, really good at laying out data in easy to digest ways. Especially financial data. @schuylerwatt
Schuyler is currently giving us a preview on his next article on University of Montana funding and hooo boy.
In the last 8 years funding for athletics from the university has gone up $3M (37.5%).
In that same span funding has gone up for UM administration by $15M (125%)…
Mass Effect 3s ending was perfect if BioWare just leaned into the indoctrination theory but instead the got scared with the reception and tried to retcon it.
Mass Effect 3 remains controversial for its ending, but its DLC offerings have always been best in class and some of my personal favorites.
- "Leviathan" revealed the origin of the Reapers to us in greater depth.
- "Omega" was a high-stakes thriller that sent us back to the Mass Effect 2 vibes and gave us our first female Turian.
- "Citadel" is an action comedy acting as a love letter and a heartfelt goodbye to the series and its characters.
- "From Ashes" gave us one of the most interesting companions throughout the entire trilogy: Javik.
All of this and BioWare even worked up the "Extended Cut" patch to improve and clarify the ending of the game. Whatever your complaints were, Mass Effect 3 is still a rich moment in time we'll likely never see again.

If you want to do something about it, the bottom of the post has a tool that helps you write an email to President Shinn in your own words and copies the Regents and the Commissioner. Goal is 500 before the Brawl. @MikeMNugent @ASchmidtacular @GrizFanPod

The business of Montana football brings in $13 million to $15 million a year and is allowed to spend $9 million. The rest pays for the other sports, which is how UM puts $4.2 million a year less into athletics than the median Big Sky school.

Miami wearing “throwback” uniforms of their 2001 championship team that every Nike team copied including mine.
Hear me out, we do this but it is me yelling at players like Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Full Metal Jacket….

At least I have my Lakers beating the Warriors by 20 with Luka, Reaves, and Kessler all scoring over 20?
I will mention it next week but here’s an informational video for the Athletic Department on how to get more money: youtu.be/2NR7mBlEBVo?is=9sGv…

Only a company like EA could take a massive franchise like Mass Effect and shit it through the center of the earth. Honestly it’s impressive.
EA is shutting down BioWare, the studio behind ‘Dragon Age’ and ‘Mass Effect’.
The next ‘Mass Effect’ game has been cancelled as a result.

It’s officially bye week and I’m still expecting Montana to give up 49 points and 500 yards of offense.
