"In #Udaipur, once upon a time, hyenas came to feast on Dadijaanās pots of vinegar and Daddy just went to the perennial stream by our home to catch fish if there were guests at home. Foxes lived in graveyards, peacocks danced in the rain. Now theĀ #Aravalli rangeĀ are turning arid."
On the #wildlife he had in our cities, what we lost, what we must fight to retain & why.
Beautiful piece in @IndianExpress by @ATehsin (and can i come live in #Colombo too-i want fireflies on my spoon & a monitor or two in my garden..
@IndianExpress: #Bengaluru needs a tunnel and 1,128 #trees must make way...I can't name a single metropolis in India where a firefly lands on your spoon as you are about to serve aloo-gobhi.
Here are the lessons I have learnt from #Colombo's city wildlife.

What if the fox isnāt always sly, the lion isnāt always brave, and the spider isnāt always creepy? What if thereās more to every character than meets the eye?

With its intriguing premise and mounting suspense, @ATehsin's novel invites readers to question how well we can ever know the truth and whether some secrets are too dangerous to uncover.

Today is Jayaprakash Narayanās birth anniversary. Incidentally the JP movement of 1974 was a massive student-led protest against corruption and misgovernance, during Indira Gandhiās govt.
It gave us regional leaders like Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar
