I am not a big fan of individual awards because football means teamwork and family and belonging to something greater. But Unai represents his own excellency and the hard work and effort of hundreds of men and women with a purpose in Aston Villa. From owners to staff. Unai didn’t win but he deserved with my high respect to Luis De la Fuente, also a fair winner. And if there will be one for the best sporting director it would be for Roberto. Keep going guys. Our Ballon d’Or is what we are building. UTV.

It would be very Aston Villa under Nassef Sawiris to just announce that Unai Emery has signed a new contract with the club to quieten the noise.

Legend of the week
Olof Mellberg
Villa supporters were left with a lasting impression of Olof Mellberg.
The Swedish international arranged for everyone of the 3,200 who made the trip to West Ham for his farewell match to be presented with a replica shirt as his parting gift.
Villan of the week
Nicolas Jackson. What a player, what a striker. Works hard from the front, defends, works the channels, brings others into play. Just a huge upgrade on what we had before. Stays fit and injury free, he’ll score 20+goals this season

Where were the pundits and football experts who now say Unai Emery is the best manager in England when Carrick was nominated for Manager of the Year & Emery was ignored? Only months ago. You were applauding Carrick. FRAUDS! Emery is Aston Villa. You dont get it yet. Utd is dead

Unai Emery: "I have to say, I'm genuinely proud of the players. My job is difficult. When we get good results, I receive a lot of praise, but I want to make one thing clear: the players' job is harder than mine.
"We have a great group of human beings. This season could go one way or the other, but we have to stay united behind them because they're showing tremendous work ethic and discipline." #AVFC

The estimated costs of shutting the North Stand this year is around £6m. The North Stand build is being funded by a combined £150m in ‘private placement’ loans (£90m+£60m). In theory, they can be repaid by the increased income from the revamped stadium. Explaining the latest construction progress on the North Stand & the development so far.

Unai Emery on four years at #AVFC: "I am not celebrating. The only celebration I have is when I can have some days off, or I can rest - another day working. I can remember four years ago when I came here. My birthday is 3rd November and on the day of my birthday I was preparing a game for 24 hours. And now is the same. I'm not doing celebrations, I’m only working more and trying to enjoy the way we are doing."
