What a great little moment. Characters aren't just good or evil. Just because DJ acts kindly here doesn't mean he'll come around like Han Solo. He has his assurances now (Holdo's plan). It's a small act of kindness at little cost to a fundamentally self-serving person.
This may very well be the best part of the movie. Rey and Kylo vs the guards, + Snoke death, Finn cementing himself as a rebel, the resistance in survival mode, and you know what’s interesting? It doesn’t rely on the presence of Luke. It’s entirely carried by the new characters.
That could have easily be the climax of the movie. Rey and Kylo clashing with the Skywalker saber being crushed. But Rian gifted us with another 30 minutes of peak, to close Luke’s narrative.

This is a really awesome Black Series box set, but @HasbroPulse you guys are so wrong for ignoring the Sequel Trilogy.
