College football is so much of a better product than the NFL … and it isn’t even close.
Stop trying to make CFB the NFL.

Anyone who tells you you’ll get the same thrill from a matchup having “seeding implications” as you would from “this is a potential playoff elimination game in the regular season” is lying through their teeth.

It’s kinda crazy that I can confidently say I’ll never attend a higher stakes edition of The Game again in my life
Not “maybe”
Not “probably”
100%.
11-0 vs 11-0 with only one realistic spot to play for a Big Ten Title and Natty. We will never see something like that again.
College football use to have the best regular season in sports. It's the reason why I think it is the best sport in the world. I will personally be extremely sad to see it go after 150+ years.

I'd flip this statement, only CFB fans understand what made CFB different from all these others.
That's entirely the point.
Everyone is so hell bent on making CFB like everything else when its uniqueness was a lot of what made it special.

The 24-team playoff removes all meaning from the games. There will be no stakes anymore. Trying to go 12-0 as an elite team will become counterproductive, teams will coast and “load manage,” not sweat dropping a few games, then enter the CFP 9-3 fresh and ready to go
CFP leaders are closer than ever to expanding to a 24-team playoff. They are talking buyouts of conference title games and scheduling logistics of doubling the field.
Foregone conclusion?
“If we can get a decent (TV) deal, we are definitely going to 24.”
