Last week in Stockholm for the @COPACOGECA European Farmers Congress An excellent opportunity to compare notes on farming systems & policies with other countries Conclusion: we share many issues such as planning restrictions, bureaucracy, support payments, disease, succession

Munching away, chewing her cud, and patiently waiting for her turn in the milking parlour 🐮 Her superpower? Eating something we can’t — grass — and turning it into nutritious food that we can. What a farming superstar 🐄 🥛

🚨 Cumbrian dairy farmer James Robinson has lost 83 cows through the testing process in almost three years, despite bTB never being confirmed. He says his family is trapped in an “endless cycle” without knowing what is causing the reactions. READ MORE: ow.ly/UoXu50ZPktE @JRfromStrickley

Today is #BackBritishFarmingDay With everything going on in the world, from weather to war, disease, pests and risky food imports, now’s the time to make sure we’ve got a robust farming sector that’s able to grow and rear the food for us to eat 🇬🇧

Earliest maize harvest ever, 24th August 🤯 Huge thanks to Team Anthony for bringing it home 🙌 The cob size was a little deflating but it’s something. Drought 2026 is the gift that keeps giving 🙃 #drought26

This landscape is cherished by many but ultimately it was somebody’s livelihood, culture & heritage 😞 They’re going to need a lot of support on their journey to restoring the common 👇 #wildfire

Spent today on Mynydd Garnclochdy Common with James Bourne and Sara Warman, seeing the scale of destruction left by the wildfire. The fire damage is severe — and the excavated fire breaks have left deep scars across the landscape. Their business now faces real challenges.

Over the past two weeks I’ve seen photographs from farmers on the frontline; exhausted & burnt landscapes, dried-up rivers, anxious people. These landscapes are where food starts. We need to get farmers through this because protecting their future = protecting ours.

Blue Tongue - this disease is having a really bad effect on flocks & herds. Speak to your vet about vaccination. I haven’t seen any side effects from vaccine in my herd after 2 years of vaccination. Speak to your vet about #BlueTongue #dontwaitvaccinate
