They acknowledged that: 1) Steel-framed, fire resistant buildings that have been impacted by long-lasting fires have not completely collapsed. 2) Structural experiments have confirmed that office fires can weaken a steel building, but cannot destroy it. So what happened to WTC Building 7 on 9/11 could not occur unless something other than fires was involved.
