“A night for all Geordies, everywhere”
Very difficult to articulate beating PSG 4-1, but I attempted to on @bbcnewcastle with Anna Foster.
Here’s a snippet of how I’m feeling today (spoiler alert, my mind is still blown).

Loved meeting Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellen years ago working for the Theatre Royal while they toured Waiting for Godot.
Patrick was so friendly & warm. Very grateful they took the time to sign this poster. One of my fav plays, which they performed incredibly together.
RIP đź’”
Osula is hobbling around, we concede the weakest goal after having possession, stonewall penalty denied, switch off completely at the back, concede a 2nd.
We’ve tested Pickford a couple of times but our mentality looks absolutely shot already. Very frustrating half. #NUFC

The system and tactics created plenty of opportunities from us to score from, we’re just not clinical or ruthless enough right now when those chances come.
Agree on the last two points mate
They scored 3 more than us and their xG (inc penalty) was still significantly lower than ours. Didn’t help we had defenders turning their backs on two of their goals either.
We really lacked mental fortitude tonight, didn’t see nearly as much fight as we should’ve. #NUFC
Embarrassing, infuriating night.
Wasted chances, terrified of pulling the trigger and hopeless finishing (bar Botman’s) when we did.
Individuals errors all night. Poor in midfield. Hornicek shaky.
Jaissle needs to change things, we can’t keep playing like this away. #NUFC
Complete panic, chaos & disarray towards the end. But a massive 3 points going into international break given both teams’ form & our injuries.
Explosive opening put us in control but penalty miss gave them a lifeline they threw everything at. Not pretty, but a crucial win. #NUFC
A humbling defeat. Leeds too good for us & have showed more conviction and courage tonight. We lacked fight.
Whole team have just been so porous and easy to play through. Leeds passing and attacking intent far better.
Deserved consolation for Toure, but lots to learn. #NUFC
3 wins, 2 draws, 2 clean sheets and still unbeaten. Not a bad start for Jaissle at all, and the players seem to be really taking to him. Lots more to come I’m sure but a really solid foundation of results to build on. #NUFC
Late draw rescued after a tepid opening hour full of mistakes. Bournemouth good 1st half, 2 fortuitous goals (foul & deflection). We showed character and belief last 30.
Scandalous refereeing, held both teams to different standards.
Stunning Barnes curler. Still unbeaten. #NUFC

We welcomed Newcastle United CEO David Hopkinson to the True Faith studio where among many things he discussed the appointment of Matthias Jaissle as our new manager following the departure of Eddie Howe.
Is MJ the man to take us forward?

I saw the same thing. Can only assume he’s on a decent wage and doesn’t want to give it up! If he wants to be 3rd choice keeper then ensures strength in depth, just hope it doesn’t affect squad harmony. Doesn’t seem the type though.
Happy enough if there’s acknowledgement that Murphy/Willock’s #NUFC careers have almost run their course.
If holding onto them an extra year means we’re able to replace them with better signings in 2027 than today, it’ll be worth it.
V surprised to see Pope still here though.
What a result and performance! Dedic, Hall & Hornicek superb.
Great goals from the reborn Wissa & Elanga. Better 2nd half where we were just more clinical. Solid debut for Nico too!
4 points and unbeaten - not bad for a supposed relegation candidate…
Fair play Jaissle! #NUFC
