Things are moving so fast that everyone seems to have completely missed how insane it is that AI companies have been allowed to unleash agentic AI products with no regulatory guidelines.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.

If you or I called in a fake homicide tip, fraudulently applied for 20 visas and hacked websites, we’d be arrested and prosecuted.

“It lives in the head-tilt when I mention a take. It lives in the “oh, you actually know that?” delivered with such warmth that it sounds like a compliment. It lives in the guy who tells me his girlfriend “is getting into hockey now, she’s so cute about it,” as if she were a puppy learning a trick.”
Fantastic read. Highly recommend.

Matthew Ingalls set Jane Doe up to be gang raped. He sent the messages and photos of Jane Doe inviting his frat brothers to come and rape her. She was clearly not able to consent. And he’s on this call trying to gaslight her into believing she consented and that he also didn’t know how many guys were in the room.

I know We Just Don't Care is an older one, but I share this once in a while to remind ourselves that even if men do believe women, that doesn't necessarily mean they're going to care. The problem isn't the report. The problem is the culture.
