Good luck tomorrow morning with the Starship launch!
First time to orbit - I'll bet all 22,000 employees at @SpaceX will have heads turned skyward.
I'll be watching: spacex.com/launches/starship… – at Brownsville, TX

Great job for a quiet, electric robot.
Totally automatic, even has lights to cut in darkness. You can hear the crickets.

Amazing to see how well this spaceship survived.
First-ever soft splashdown that left Starship intact & floating, allowing close-up inspection of the heat shield tiles after the wicked heat of reentry.
Onwards to catch it next time - congrats to the whole team @SpaceX !
Meshtastic is growing nicely on PEI. Join in on the fun, get your node for as little as $35 at the Cornwall Civic Center this Saturday, July 25 at 10am.

Não era o arranque que queríamos, mas isto está longe de ter acabado. Cabeça levantada e foco no próximo jogo.
Grid scale batteries are being installed by utilities around the world, but on P.E.I, the local utility is pushing to waste $300+ million on dirty diesel turbines.
Batteries are now cheaper, respond faster, & provide further savings by avoiding fuel costs.

Extreme cold in Atlantic Canada, currently windchill of -26°C and 3,800 households without power on P.E.I., plus snow storm forecasted for tomorrow.
"We need battery energy storage systems (BESS). Maritime Electric claims renewable energy can’t stabilize the grid... Yet modern “grid-forming” batteries can stabilize voltage and frequency just like a gas plant."
PEI needs innovation... saltwire.com/prince-edward-i…
Around 1,200 households on #PEI without power this evening, some have been without power for 2 hours and counting. Current temperature is -15°C.
They thought they were just producing energy… but the solar panels awakened the deser.

Turning cheap daytime solar into electricity you can actually use at night just got a lot cheaper.
Battery storage hits $65/MWh – a tipping point for wind and solar.

For years, authorities have predicted gas power stations would remain necessary to back up renewables. But increasingly, this work is being done instead by large-scale batteries.
Grid batteries have rapidly moved from a supporting role to prime time.

Yeah, I can see a clear path for a not-so-distant future with self-driving cars and humanoid robots, and now understanding the utility of AI and how much power and compute it needs, I'm starting to consider as well...
Solar powered AI satellites
That's just wild.
