If you’ve been on the internet over the past five years, you’ve probably seen these “aesthetics” go viral before.
What you may not know is that all of these terms have one common origin point.

My dear front-end developers (and anyone who’s interested in the future of interfaces):
I have crawled through depths of hell to bring you, for the foreseeable years, one of the more important foundational pieces of UI engineering (if not in implementation then certainly at least in concept):
Fast, accurate and comprehensive userland text measurement algorithm in pure TypeScript, usable for laying out entire web pages without CSS, bypassing DOM measurements and reflow

I've been collecting interface designs for 15+ years. every gesture, tool, menu that made me stop and think “wait how does this work”, “why does this matter?”, but also “who are the giants upon whom we build?”
Now i want to publish it: “Interface Lineage”.

Finally, we have published Horizon OS UI Set for ISDK-Unity and Figma with the Interaction SDK v69 release on 10/9! This is our first public release of official UI components and design resources based on the Quest Design System.
UI Set for Meta XR Interaction SDK:
developers.meta.com/horizon/…
Figma Design file:
figma.com/community/file/142…
By using UI Set, you can achieve consistent input modality support, visual feedback, and interaction behaviors. In addition to UI components and common UI pattern examples, theming capability can help you bring your own brand identity into your UI.
We hope these UI Set Unity components + Figma design assets + Guideline docs - can help you designers, developers, and creators design, experiment, and build great spatial app experiences for Horizon OS platform.
Including a personal blog post - How to build a simple spatial panel app with Meta Horizon OS UI Set, an image viewer with NASA Mars Rover API:
