They can't tell you "we need to expand this thing cause we need to make more money cause we suck. We screwed things up nine ways from Sunday and should never have had our hands on the wheel to begin with."
So they have to astroturf you, they have to gaslight you, and in this case what it sounds like is this:
instead of telling you, "we need to expand this thing so we can make a whole lot more money", it sounds like, "Well, we can't schedule better in the regular season until we expand the college football playoff, because teams won't schedule tougher if they're scared of not making it in."
Now, I know that doesn't fool a lot of you, but these people really do think you're stupid, so they really do believe that fools you, they really do believe you will never realize, number 1, they control the scheduling apparatus already, and number 2, if the playoff rankings process is flawed, guess what?
They also control the rankings protocol!
It's their system!
They can rewrite the rules anytime they want to!
It's their member institutions!
They can tell them to play any game they want to!
They won't, because they're trying to weaponize it because it's a lot more convenient to say, "hey, seals, honk, honk, honk, you guys want better regular season games? Support the playoff expansion. Wouldn't it be great to not see Big Noon Kickoff at Kent State vs Ohio State? Support the playoff expansion."
It's a joke! You're just expected to be dumb enough to buy it.

And of course a larger network person that was the microphone to the silly format his conference wanted floats this out there to attempt to give positive reviews to this format
They're still trying to play it off like there's going to be bigger non-conference games. There won't be, teams may still make the playoff with a tougher schedule but they don't want the wear and tear of one
Interfering with first responders?
Jail for life honestly
🔴 POLICE ACTIVITY AT APARTMENT COMPLEX: This happened at one of the apartment complexes on University Oaks Blvd in College Station.
Police say there was a medical emergency and people there were interfering with the responders which lead to 3 people being detained.
At this point no arrests have been made. That’s all we have at this time.
Using the data provided by the City of Bryan and other documents, I have located the exact address for the Waffle House.
Google Maps states the walking distance is 3.2 miles.
Unfortunately, Waffle House has built locations in Baton Rouge and Mississippi State which move them up the list, meaning we are still 13th
This is what they said about John Lennon too

That is the most megalomaniacal take I have ever read. Nobody is going to kill him and ruin their own life because they are mildly annoyed by a tv show they can literally just turn off

Genuinely don't know what I'm going to watch in the primetime slate.
Army vs Memphis might be the most "tight."

Hockey is growing big in the south.
Next door, Oklahoma State put 15K+ in the BOK Center vs OU and they're taking it outdoors to Boone Pickens in 2027.
How freaking awesome would @SEC hockey be

Is Lincoln Riley done-zo?
Outscored 24-7.
Outrushed 142 to -17. (Yes, negative 17)
They left with less rushing yards than they pulled up in the bus with.
They lost by 3 scores to a team with 58 passing yards and 200 total yards.
That's it, that's all it took.
USC didn't have a single play of 20+ yards the entire game.
Wisconsin had 5 sacks, they had 9 TFLs. Put another way, Wisconsin had more TFLs than USC had total points.
The USC drive chart:
3-and-out
Interception
Interception
Touchdown
(Halftime)
Missed FG
Missed FG
Turnover on downs
Turnover on downs
(End of Game)
That's the least amount of points EVER for Lincoln Riley as a head coach, and meanwhile across town, Bob Chesney has UCLA in position to do something in year 1 that Lincoln Riley has failed to do in 5 years at USC, and that is: sniff the playoff.
In the 1970s, you know what teams played for?
1978 Ball State went 10-1 (8-0) in the regular season.
You know what they got as a reward? A playoff invitation? A decent bowl game?
They got bragging rights.
That's it.
The MAC didn't even have a conference championship game.
I wonder if all those players, coaches, and fans thought their entire season was meaningless because they didn't have any playoff access.
Bryan-College Station is officially an SEC Town. Just heard via @ChipSportsTalk & Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez that Aggieland is getting a Waffle House. It will be near the old Hall of Fame (& where I once interviewed George W Bush during the 1994 governor's race!) on west side.
