The Mets spent $346.7M and went 74-88.
The Brewers ($146M) and Rays ($96M) are in the World Series.
First World Series with two bottom-half payrolls since 1991.
Owners still want a cap and a Dec. 2 lockout for "competitive balance."
Posting about it again.
The evidence against a cap keeps coming.
Here is my analyzation of Hook (1991) or as I like the call it: Spielberg’s most underrated film!
Run home Jack! Such a symbolic and personal line with how Jack is very confused and being manipulated with the false sense of love from Captain Hook
Peter Banning ran away as a baby. When he returned as a 7 or 8 year old boy, he flies back home to see his parents played by Kelly Rowan (The O.C. Kirsten) & Dustin Hoffman (face of Peter’s father represents Captain Hook and Peter’s nightmare of growing up)
Also in Peter’s mind his father (Dustin Hoffman) had another son, years after Peter ran away to fly to Neverland to never grow up and he had been replaced and now the vicious cycle is repeating:
Peter is being replaced by Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman) (same face) by his son as Captain Hook is savagely manipulating Jack and his anger/frustration towards Peter always choosing work over him and family has reached a boiling point.
Peter who was absent from Jack’s baseball game earlier in the film, on the phone at Maggie’s recital in the first scene of the film and was also warned by Moira that these young years of their children are precious and the children want to spend time with Peter and soon they’re not going to want to spend time with him and he is going to want attention from them.
Moira’s warning has now caught up to Peter rather quickly and he has to race against time (major theme of theme of the film for Peter and Hook) to not only physically save his children but to emotionally save Jack from Captain Hook’s hold on him but also from becoming the bitter old man Peter had become.
Through Jack and Maggie’s love, Peter found his happy thought. He wanted to start a family and he was repressing growing up which made him bitter and obsessed with work.
This is one of Spielberg’s most underrated films!
It’s beautiful, inspiring, hits deep, has humor, respects the lore of Peter Pan, while expanding the story and giving us the answer to a question we all had before this film came out: what happens to Peter Pan when he grows up?!
I wish Spielberg knew what a masterful job he did. So grateful he gave us this masterpiece.

One of my all time favorites!
I just finished watching Smallville, and now I understand why so many people consider it one of DC's greatest works. It's just beautiful. The storyline, the character development, and the way they introduced new elements while connecting them to things that happened earlier in the series were so well done.
Lionel Luthor for example, he was first introduced essentially as just Lex's father, but as the story progressed, we discovered that he was involved in so much more. The writers kept revealing new layers to his character, and that made the story even more interesting.
One thing I particularly loved was how they brought so many DC characters into the series and connected their stories. There were so many characters and references that made the world feel bigger.
The timeline and the way certain characters were portrayed were quite different from what I expected, but I still loved how much of the DC universe they managed to incorporate into the show.
Honestly, Smallville was just beautiful. ❤️

Your daily reminder…
A salary cap isn’t about competitive balance.
It’s a tool designed to suppress player salaries, protect ownership costs, and inflate franchise values.
The same owners who claim it “levels the playing field” are the ones cashing in when team values skyrocket while player pay gets artificially restrained.
Competitive balance doesn’t come from a hard cap, it comes from revenue sharing and smart spending.
A cap just makes the owners richer
I’m really hoping this is not a real quote, it’s out of context or it’s just BS. @JamesGunn is one of the smartest writers i study and he knows Batman and I don’t feel he would say this.
This feels like a made up quote to smear Gunn and I don’t like it. Leave him alone
Entourage! @jeremypiven back me up and let everyone know I’m correct on this 😊
Wow spot on by Jim Carrey!! I resonated with everything he said here and I can officially say I'm filled with purpose now and no longer depressed
Jim Carrey Just Explained Depression Better Than Most Therapists
Jim Carrey: “Sadness is just from happenstance, whatever happens to you or doesn’t happen to you.”
“Depression is your body saying, ‘I don’t want to be this character anymore.’”
“You don’t want to carry this persona that you’ve created for the world.”
“I heard Jeff Foster talk about depression as ‘deep rest.’”
“Your body needs to be depressed. It needs deep rest from the character you’ve been trying to play.”
“Sometimes, what feels like breaking down can be a signal that something in your life needs attention.”
Hardest thing to do in all of sports is to pitch a perfect game/no hitter at Coors Field and Hideo Nomo did it!!
Hideo Nomo no-hit the Rockies at Coors Field on September 17, 1996. He did it in the rain, walked four, struck out eight and led the Dodgers to a 9-0 win.
Coors became famous for offense and difficult pitching conditions. Nomo remains the only pitcher to throw a no-hitter there, which puts this start in its own category.
Not the worst movie by any means and I will still throw it on for Christmas time but Ron Howard’s The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (2000).
I love that I’m a minority on this but other than Jim Carrey’s electric performance and the production design, this film commits the all time movie sin for me: it’s boring!
Most of the other characters are dense.
I’ve tried 10 times with this film and so far I don’t care for it
Watching Al Pacino gain a new found respect for Robert De Niro in this scene while still realizing he has to take him down and it’s going to actually be a challenge will never not be satisfying! Perfect scene that shows how good both De Niro & Pacino are at their jobs!
I remember being in the theater loving The Force Awakens (2015) but also being sad they didn’t give us just 1 scene of the 3 of them together.
JJ is not wrong but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t have 1 scene with them all together!!
Sticking with Robocop 3 (1993) tonight:
Spoilers if you haven’t seen the film!!
this movie is actually shocking me a bit. I’m still not the biggest fan, but this scene once again proves how life experiences can change the way you feel about a scene.
I still think it was a very big mistake to kill off Anne Lewis but at the same point it also did raise the stakes.
First off, credit to Basil Poledouris in this scene for properly swelling the music into a descent.
He is beautifully & tragically conveying, not only how we the audience should feel but the ray of emotions that are going on in Murphy’s head.
As a cyborg, he is programmed to be emotionless, and he’s trying his hardest to feel in the scene while not obeying his commands, but also at the same point he’s trying to remain strong so that his friend and partner can die with honor/dignity and he’s trying hard to comfort her as best he can in her last moments.
With her final breath, he makes a beautiful sentimental promise of revenge which goes against the honor, duty and his programming because this is his best friend and partner and really highlights to show that he really is human.
The scene also tragically encapsulates as well as mirrors, what happened in the first film, where he was brutally murdered by an evil sociopath named Clarence Boddiger and instead of arresting him a second time he chooses his human side of revenge to take out Clarence.
Also this scene in Robocop 3 (1993) of Otomo’s stepping boot first into frame is a great callback to Robocop 2 (1990) and shows the dark mirroring of these 2 cyborgs made by corporations.
The difference is Robocop is more human while not being a prisoner to the corporation who built him and does not always follow commands when it interferes with human emotions. Otomo is a cold, calculating machine with none of these qualities that make Murphy so special.
This film is a lot deeper than I remember and give it credit for.

I’ve been saying for months and as per usual nobody listened to me, the Lakers are a scary good team. They have athletic depth, can spread the floor, move well in transition, have an incredible rim protector. They’re one piece away from being the favorites.
Also helps they don’t have a chemistry killer in the locker room that also destroys the front office moves to better suit his needs cough cough Lebron. So glad he’s gone!
You can see how much happier the players are and not feeling the pressure to appease someone like him. They’re playing free basketball uncontained to their full potential
You would think by now, “fans” who want a salary cap as well as a lockout because they’re angry at the Dodgers success are low iq dummies.
Having a cap will not make your teams front office/owner accountable.
You’re saying you don’t think the players deserved to be paid what they are owed.
Newsflash, if your team is in a low market as Kansas City, Detroit etc most big free agents don’t want play in those cities.
Making a cap does nothing dumb dumbs!
Learn to think for yourselves and avoid group think.
I didn’t think we had this many morons on the planet but everyday I get proven wrong by these salary cap “fans,” absolute reason we are going into a lockout.
This video is a perfect explanation how arrogant most MLB owners are and they give no logical reasoning for wanting a cap.
They do a great job though of getting low iq “fans” like @mikedonnelly00 to spread their dumb unaccountable message and are trying to ruin the game by putting a cap/lockout for no reason.
If anything, get a salary floor.
@mikedonnelly00 learn to think for yourself and not be apart of the group think but something tells me you’re past the point of new return in the logical sense!
