My first day of teaching @Princeton and my first day of teaching my course "Gaming Blackness" is a wrap! The students were great, and I had a blast watching them all play Super Smash Bros!

I am never on this app anymore, but I came back to say that @nyamakop's game Relooted just dropped and that you should play it! This and Take us North were two of my highly anticipated games.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but clarity is not the absence of rigor. It is okay to write for the homies back home.

Free at last, free at last. Thank God almighty, he is free at last! Rivals finally got my man up out of those chains.
Half human, half vampire, you know his name — Blade. Almost a century ago, Eric Brooks was born of two worlds: the light of his mother's embrace and the dark of the vampire that attacked her. After embracing his existence as a dhampir, he became the Daywalker, the ultimate vampire hunter, combining unmatched combat skills and unwavering supernatural abilities. When Dracula reigned over New York City, it was none other than Blade who confronted him first. By then, however, it was too late. Dracula had mastered the almighty power of Chronovium, defeating the Daywalker and imprisoning him within the castle dungeon. After Dracula's fall, Blade was sent to Wakanda to recover, but his story is far from over. Now recruited by Shuri to save all existence, Blade stands awake and at the ready against the dark forces of Hela and Knull. Only time will tell how this will all unfold, find out more about S3.5 on August 8 UTC. 🗡️

One of the best things @MarvelRivals did was use Demon Days Psylocke (a Japanese woman named Sai), instead of using the 616 Psylocke, who was a British woman inhabiting a Japanese woman's body, because.... comics.

I have been told I don't sing my praises enough, so here is today's win. I just found out that my classes, Gaming Blackness and Digital Anthropology, are not only ranked at the top of the Anthropology dept, but are among the highest rated courses in all of Princeton University.

When you do work that challenges the norm, academia can, at times, feel isolated. But, I felt nothing but love and joy at the 2025 Association of Black Anthropologist Conference in Dakar, Senegal. Here's to reinvigoration! So expect new pieces from me soon! #Blackanthropology

I recently found out that one of the undergraduate students I helped mentor got into his dream master's program at Stanford! While times may be tough, I am happy to see how support can help lift one another.

Not that anyone asked.... but as an anthropologist, I think we've forgotten how deadly groups of humans have been over centuries. Now leave the gorillas alone.
