The X24.6 flare launched an exceptionally fast full-halo CME headed directly for Earth. It is bright and fast, and it is quickly drowned out in the intense solar radiation storm. You know it's going to be a big impact when the CME looks like this! #2003HalloweenStorms
BOOM! X24.6+, almost on the central meridian. You know it's going to be a good one! And it was. #2003HalloweenStorms

She walked into a store with two dollars in her hand for a bottle of orange juice that cost $1.79.
The owner accused her of stealing it, grabbed her by the sweater, and — as the girl turned to leave — shot her in the back of the head.
Latasha Harlins was 15. Los Angeles, March 1991.
The security camera recorded all of it. The money was still in her hand when she fell.
The owner was convicted of voluntary manslaughter. The maximum was sixteen years.
The judge gave her probation, four hundred hours of community service, and a five-hundred-dollar fine. No prison. Not one day.
Latasha Harlins was thirteen days past the Rodney King video. Los Angeles held both of those facts at once for a year, and when the King verdicts came in, the city exploded — and a great many people in it were thinking about a girl and a bottle of juice.
Her family says she wanted to be a lawyer.
Fifteen years old. A dollar seventy-nine. Five hundred dollars.
Compare those last two numbers for a moment. That is the whole post.
Latasha Harlins was 15. Her life was worth more than $500.
And hers is not the only story where the value placed on a Black life was painfully different from the consequences that followed.
We documented up to 150 of those stories in 150 Crimes Against Black America They Never Answered For.

These criminals just set off the smoke alarm again...at midnight. No smoke or heat in the house. They do it intermittently. Scares my poor dog every time.
These criminals are keeping me awake. I have to work tomorrow. I am hoping they leave my dog alone too.
These criminals are torturing my dog, giving me what feels like a panic attack, and making me nauseated.

How can anyone with an once of humanity support this? Well I guess that is a silly question in light of the fact that in the West opposition to genocide in Gaza & ethnic cleansing on the West Bank is criminalized, when it is not ignored.
The wealthy buy their way out. The poor are sent to the grinder of war.
In the Ukraine, this has been dubbed "beadification" – when people are taken directly from the streets: near shops, at bus stops, on their way home or to work.
Some end up within this system of forced mobilization because they lack money, connections, and the ability to find alternative options. Others, with resources, find ways to obtain deferments, obtain documents, or avoid participating in combat.
Within Ukrainian society, there are accusations that money can solve problems that, for ordinary people, become a matter of life and death. Amounts ranging from thousands to tens of thousands of dollars are mentioned for various ways to avoid being sent to the front lines.
And this is the main conflict of any protracted war: decisions are made at the top, while people at the bottom bear the most severe consequences.
Some determine the strategy, while others receive summons. Some talk about grand goals, while others find themselves on the front lines.
When the rules become different for those who have money and those who don't, the word "Ukrainian solidarity" begins to sound increasingly contradictory.
Because any war, first and foremost, tests not only the army but also the fairness of society – are all willing to pay the same price for the decisions that are made?
So, the question to the Ukrainian people themselves: be honest – do you truly believe that the corrupt system is fair, in which some make decisions about the war, others find ways to avoid its consequences, and a third group ends up in the meat grinder for the benefit of Western interests?
