As a Retro game streamer on Twitch, I've always wanted to be able to choose the general Retro category and a second game category. Right now it's one or the other, limiting discoverability. If you like this idea as a viewer or fellow streamer, vote for it! twitch.uservoice.com/forums/…

I finally got around to playing Magician for NES. It's one of the most ambitious games I've played on the console and really enjoyed discovering how many ways there were to meet an untimely end. Here's my thoughts! Enjoy! youtu.be/WQvWDVALGOw

Steam next Fest was about 1/7th of our total wishlists, so don’t worry if it’s not kicking off for you. Keep on marketing.

I have a Super Nintendo ad from the 90s that features Star Fox as the first Super FX chip game, and inside, it has instructions to cut out and create a paper Arwing. Here's the first set of scans:

Can you guys make this blow up and/or tag relevant people so @YouTube will acknowledge this?

@YouTube @YouTubeCreators @YouTubeGaming It looks like my channel is flagged as "for kids" even though I specifically have always declined that option both globally and on individual videos. Is there anything you can do to fix this? It has completely ruined my metrics.

Here's an example of how much money a game dev actually pockets after earning $100,000 of Gross Revenue on Steam: - ~18% (returns, chargebacks, taxes) = $82,000 - 30% (Steam's platform cut) = $57,400 - 0% (if you self-publish) - 15.3% (U.S. Self Employment Tax) = $48,617 - $4,377 (Federal income tax) = $44,270 - ~$0-$3,800 (State income tax) = ~$40,400 So you could pocket about $40,000, but don't be discouraged. $100k gross sounds like a lot but it's only 5,000 copies sold at $20. This is attainable, but it's also why it's important to keep your development timeline short. xitter.cf/jogamedev/status/19755… Disclaimer: This is a rough simplified example for a US solo dev self-publishing as a sole proprietor with minimal other expenses. Actual results vary a lot by your location, business structure, deductions, filing status, etc. This is not tax or financial advice — talk to a CPA.
"Is it worth the time?" Gamedev Edition! This chart shows a prospective Annual Salary based on **how long it takes the build your game** vs **how many copies you sell**

We've been chipping away at a video inspired by the world of The Witcher since December. My husband learned how to paint, model with clay and make sets. We made everything in this video other than the FiGGYZ of course! I hope you like it! @FiGGYZOfficial youtu.be/ECQzNbARUZc

I'm participating in a raid train tomorrow night from 6:00-9:00 pm EST, hosted by folks from the Twitch Retro Creator Club. The goal is to highlight lesser-known retro games, and I'll be showcasing a PC title called Hunter Hunted. Hopefully see you there. Here's the schedule!

I've played a lot of 'survivorslikes' the past couple of years, more than one person should reasonably play. Some great ones released this year, so here are a few highlights:
