Look, I love my country. I wish we had strong competent leadership in charge. But that’s just not in the cards right now. The damage is sustained and deepening under Trump. The moral and economic rot settling in as the norm. Change is badly needed, and damn fast..

Poor Republicans - they tried to stop mail in voting, then they rigged district boundaries, and now threatening to arrest Dem candidates. And still the wave spreads and deepens. Voters angry and poised to act. The House is gone and the Senate on the brink this morning..

I don’t think anybody is paying attention to Trump rallies at this point..
At Trump’s South Carolina rally, GOP Rep. Russell Fry just told supporters to tell Democrats that Election Day is November 4. Election Day is November 3. Giving voters the wrong date isn’t a joke. It’s an attempt to keep them from voting.

Sure. I think Reid out-thinks himself with his red zone offense. I think he’s gotten a bit too conservative at times, lets teams hang around in all those one score games. I think he tends to stick with guys a bit too long, both on the field and on the roster. But there is nothing wrong with his basic offensive schemes and structures. You do the best you can with what you have. And at 5-1, it’s still working very well. You don’t want to talk about how he’s evolving to a more run/heavy offense with Walker and a QB six games off a major injury. That’s coaching too. And he’s still winning. We can do this all day, but I can sum up with four words: I think you’re wrong. Again, respectfully..
Replying to @Alan_Covington
@Alan_Covington , I’m starting to think I’m debating Andy Reid’s burner account. You just wrote an entire essay explaining why coaching deserves credit for 17 wins but apparently bears no responsibility when the offense gets dismantled. You acknowledge the offensive line got physically dominated, then dismiss protection schemes, personnel and structure as contributing factors. And somehow Brady and Belichick entered the conversation because I asked why our dropback passing game has been dysfunctional for three years? Nobody’s questioning Andy’s legacy. We’re questioning his CURRENT coaching decisions. Is there any criticism of Reid you’re actually willing to evaluate without referencing his resume?

I didn’t know Mahomes signed the other 52 players…

I didn’t know Brett Veach had 3 Super Bowl MVPs?

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick spent 20 years looking for the perfect offense. Both will tell you today they never found it, and nobody has done it better than those two. Criticism of Reid is valid - hell, he criticizes himself. But yours sounds like just another rant without serious justification, questioning every single thing he does. Dont try to sell this BS that an NFL 15-1 (sat starters in Denver) and two playoff wins just two years ago is some indication of a system not functioning. That doesn’t pass the laugh test. They got their ass kicked in that Super Bowl for the very same reason they got it kicked Sunday night - they were physically beaten in both sides of the line. And it doesn’t happen often under Andy Reid. It wasn’t bad scheming or bad personel or offensive structure that won 17 games in 2024 or started 5-0 THIS season. My problem here is I just completely reject your basic premise. It’s hard to win games in the NFL. I ‘respectfully’ submit Reid does it better than most, and has for a long, long time..
Replying to @Alan_Covington
@Alan_Covington , respectfully, what does any of that have to do with my argument? I brought up specific issues with offensive structure, personnel utilization, route concepts, protection schemes and situational play-calling. Your response was that books have been written and I’m upset we aren’t winning 31-3 every week. Who said that? Where? You wanted a serious football discussion, but the moment I challenged Andy Reid’s coaching, you abandoned the actual argument to debate a position I never held. You don’t have to agree with me, but at least disagree with something I actually said.

It’s not lazy at all. Books have been written about this stuff. I tried to respond in a tweet. I thought this would be a serious exchange, but you are just another guy who can’t understand why the Chiefs aren’t winning 31-3 every week. Dime a dozen. Tell your story walking..
No, this is just lazy analysis. You’re refusing to acknowledge what’s been right in front of us for three years. I watched Mahomes struggle in a fundamentally dysfunctional offensive structure, then watched that same system completely collapse without him. Andy Reid hasn’t won a preseason game in three years. Preseason or not, when your offense consistently looks dysfunctional with anyone not named Patrick Mahomes, at what point do we stop crediting the scheme and acknowledge that Mahomes is the one keeping it afloat? And the craziest part? Even WITH Mahomes, the offense still looks like shit.

With the Simmons trade, the Bears are saying all their pieces are in place and they are going all in. They feel they can fill gaps without #1 picks the next two years. I love it. Sure like to see the Chiefs do the same with Garrett Wilson..

Basic offensive sets can have up to 5 variations, with a variety of backfield and downfield blocking assignments and receiver routes, all with different terminology in the huddle (or at the line). That’s for one play for skill position guys. The line has its own assignments and terminology. Executing it isn’t necessarily difficult for most (if THIS happens, THAT happens, etc), but learning the terminology and assignment is the real heavy lifting, especially coming from another team where it’s all different terminology, or for rookies coming from a variety of college programs. It’s why some guys take longer to get on the field. Frankly, some guys are smarter than others. Defenses have a wide variety of blitz packages, nickel packages, dime packages, etc, but it all comes down to the basics - find the ball, chase the ball, tackle the ball. As Brady once said on Fox, “Football is a basic battle for real estate”
Andy, I have a genuine question. How is your offense supposedly too complicated for a veteran NFL receiver to learn, but opposing defensive coordinators seemingly have no problem figuring out what you’re running every Sunday? The defense doesn’t even get the playbook. At what point do we acknowledge that your scheme is becoming more difficult for your own players to execute than it is for opposing defenses to defend?

Why would we sign someone with Downs I don't get it genuinely curious? I'm surprised he actually made it to the league sounds kind of sad

I getting cautiously optimistic about Denver Sunday. We can’t be any worse than Sunday night and Denver played pretty well in Arizona. And we’ve already handled them once. We can do some good things against Nix. And we can hurt them with Walker. We’ll show up..
Travis on loss to Seattle. “If we get the opportunity to play them again, I’m sure we’ll have it geared up and be fired up and ready to go. Looking at it right now, they kind of got us. We have enough guys in this building to look each other in the face and know exactly how to hold each other accountable.”

Getting real tired of all this crap about Brett Veach, so I’m going to vent a bit. Christ, you would think we’ve had Matt Millen or, heaven forbid, Jerry Jones running this team. Let’s talk about Jerry - he’s had Dak and Lamb and Pickens and sack king Parsons and what the hell have they ever won? Now turn your eyes to Cincinnati. They’ve had Burrow and Chase and Higgins and sack king Trey and THEY haven’t even been to the playoffs since Mahomes kicked their ass in 2023. So my guy Veach goes to five Super Bowls in seven years, wins three rings. He has one down year and then goes out and gets Kenneth Walker, changes the dynamic of the offense for Mahomes, and now he’s right back to 5-1 at the top of the AFC and NFL - again. Boy, that 21 month down era was painful, wasn’t it? And Veach did all this without a Chase or Lamb or Tee or Pickens or a glorified sack king (or a RB like Walker, for that matter). So maybe we get off the guys back and appreciate what we do have. Maybe, just maybe, he knows what he’s doing. I’m sure Clark feels he’s been incredibly damn successful. I’m sure the Bills and Ravens and Cowboys and Steelers and Giants would walk over broken glass to have this guy and his decade of dominance. Maybe they would get to just one Super Bowl again.. We get on Veach for not bring in every stud receiver out there, and he’s out there winning Super Bowls with TDs from Isiah Pacheco and Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney and Marquez Valdez-Scantling and a guy named Ju Ju and a world championship walk-off to Mercole Hardman. I haven’t seen many walk-off SB TDs from St Brown or Justin Jefferson. Or any SB TDs at all, for that matter. Now let’s journey up to Buffalo, where we are told the Bills have the greatest QB to ever walk planet earth - Josh Allen. Step up here for a moment, Josh. Allen has lost four straight postseason games to Veach and his Chiefs - not one loss, or two losses, but four losses in a row. Notice a trend here? (You can sit back down now, Josh. Thanks for participating) Ok, Veach has done all that too, but, dammit, he’s missed on a few higher draft picks, so the guy needs a trip to the woodshed? For every miss, there’s 7th round picks Pacheco or Jaylen Watson or Nick Allegretti starting and winning Super Bowls. And that’s how you do it.

Virginia the first of many blue states to release their Election Day guidance for poll workers. It includes recording badge numbers from every federal “observer”, lawyers for on site counsel, and local law enforcement nearby and ready to act if needed..

10X better than Wilson? Ok lol Then send us Wilson today since the Jets are so stacked at receiver..

Garrett Wilson is not nearly as good as thought. Omar Cooper walked in and is 10x better than garrett already. Old Davante Adams did the same 2 years ago. If ur the chiefs, id be very careful here.
