A few weeks ago, leadership from DOLWD, Office of the Governor and Social Security Administration met in Anchorage to discuss objectives for the new fiscal year - strengthening coordination, streamlining processes and ensuring individuals and families receive support they need.

On Aug. 13, 2026, our Commissioner and AVTEC Director met with Dr. Kirk Nooks, President of Council of Occupational Education. The national organization accredits AVTEC programs, allowing students federal training support and ensuring quality/consistency in training programs.
