If ‘doing their own research’ meant graduating from high school then getting a science or medical degree then doing a masters and/or doctorate in epidemiology then publishing peer-reviewed research I would be totally cool with that
Chapter 1 of Purpose-driven Governance: Why is a non-profit? It doesn’t matter what a non-profit it, it matters why. What you ask is more important than finding the correct answer when a community of people are working together.
Still feeling sad that BC nonprofit sector so invisible to provincial government. Some good announcements, but huge lost opportunity.
Played softball in the nineties with this guy’s grandmother. He is definitely the kind of leader Canada needs right now.

This morning, I am introducing an anti-racism motion. As MLAs, we inherit a racist & white supremest history in the legislature. Every day & in all work, we must undue the impact of this and combat the racism that exists today #antiracism #StopAsianHate

Highlight in the keynote at #BOSS2021 right now: @HildyGottlieb reflected on how every panel - whether talking about collaboration, equity, financial well-being, transformation - mentioned the importance of trust. We must build trust with each other to strengthen the sector.
So excited to be doing a workshop on equity and collaboration among non-profits with the indefatigable Zahra Esmail on Equity Day at bossvancouver.ca/

I have worked on diversity in faculty hiring for several years and have studied racism for decades. I can thus tell you with confidence that the #1 reason Black, Latinx, and Indigenous people are under-represented among faculty is that people on search committees are racist.
