Markets move on headlines. An earnings release, a new AI chip, or a product-launch rumor spreading across Telegram can quickly draw traders’ attention. But a trading agent needs more than a headline to act. It needs to know whether the news is fresh, where it originated, what evidence supports it, and whether a trade would stay within its risk limits. That’s the idea behind Wallstreet Quant. Wallstreet Quant is an AI trading-agent prototype for tokenized US equities. It collects market news, analyzes company events, and checks proposed paper trades against defined risk limits. Built by Albright AI for the @Bitget_AI Hackathon. Here’s how it works: Follow the news The backend monitors five public Telegram channels and checks SEC filings for Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Microsoft and Amazon. It keeps the source links, publication times and message revisions. Old news stays old, even when someone edits or reposts it. Analyze relevant headlines Fresh company headlines that pass the initial filters go to a Qwen model through Groq. The model gives a decision, explains its reasoning, and cites the evidence it received. Stale stories and events already processed are filtered out before another AI request. Apply the risk limits The model doesn’t get to change the rules. Each position is capped at 10% of the paper account, with total exposure capped at 30%. The system also checks confidence, news age, quote freshness and spread before allowing a trade. Execute on paper Approved trades use fresh Bitget market quotes, with simulated fees and slippage included. The worker monitors open positions against stop-loss, take-profit and maximum holding-time rules. Show what happened The dashboard lets you follow the events, read the AI’s reasoning, see why a decision was blocked, and check paper positions and execution history. I wanted the explanation to be visible even when the agent decides to do nothing. What’s working today The Telegram collector and paper worker are running on a VPS. The website is connected to that paper account, so processing continues when my laptop is off. The latest backend code is on GitHub. The Windows test run finished with 98 tests passed and 2 skipped. There’s still work to do Telegram headlines can trigger AI analysis, but they can’t authorize trades on their own. The next step is to automatically check their claims against primary sources, such as the company’s own announcement. This version uses paper trading. The video demonstrates the workflow with simulated events and paper trades. The hosted dashboard shows the connected VPS account.
