If you're interested in the football culture of Brazil's favelas and these clubs that were the start of so many Brazilian stars like big Gabby, we made a Netflix series about it called 'The Root of the Game.' It's pretty incredible how much it means to them. COYG!

Started this series the other night… 10/10 so far. If you want to see where today’s Brazilian stars (Raphinha, Cunha, Gabriel Jesus) and many legends of the past got their start, this is it. The clip below from Raphinha is almost hard to fathom. Várzea is a different animal.🇧🇷

No more World Cup games today. If you're looking for something to watch, THE ROOT OF THE GAME is a new limited series on Netflix that takes viewers inside Várzea, Brazil's underground football culture. here's Raphinha on the pressure that comes with making it out.

If you are looking for something to watch between World Cup matches this weekend, THE ROOT OF THE GAME just dropped on Netflix. I was lucky enough to be an EP on this project, supporting one of my closest friends (@AlecCutter) as he disappeared into the favelas of São Paulo over the last couple of years to create what he's described as his love letter to Brazilian football. If you get a chance to watch, I'd love to hear what you think!

Brazil’s insane love for Futbal, its underground subculture of football leagues called Varzea and no-halftime games have been beautifully framed in the Netflix documentary The Root Of The Game.

@tobyasky have you seen a short documentary titled "The Root Of The Game" on Netflix. It's about how much Brazilians love football and how a couple of their professionals have gme through the intense Varzea local community league. It's worth it I promise
