“This country has quietly become a target of choice — largely because Canadian authorities haven't done much to stop these types of scams.”
Idk, maybe with the $26 billion we gave them the Ukrainian authorities could do something as well?
If you're wondering who is behind those Jagmeet Singh duffel bag ads on here, know that it's part of a multi-billion dollar scam empire being run out of Eastern European call centers. It's an absolutely massive problem and Canada is a priority target.

I once had DND string me along on an access request, sending me emails the docs were coming, etc. I wanted to be reasonable person so I waited and waited. When I realized I was being played I filed a complaint, at Day 91, only to be told I was too late to complain. Never again.
Replying to @davidpugliese
They key to the ATIP is to complain on day 32 after you made the request to the Office of the Information Commissioner. If the department makes it to day 91 with no extension or complaint there is no actual requirement to respond to your request.

Alberta voting in favour of all the racist dog whistle questions is actually very Canadian.
In any halfway serious place, Smith would resign in disgrace. At minimum, the cranks controlling her party and holding the province hostage would be expelled. But this is Alberta.
Thank you, Alberta!
I’m very pleased to see the initial results from Elections Alberta show widespread support for remaining in Canada. Albertans have voted for a stronger Alberta in a united Canada.
Thank you to all Albertans who took time to vote on these critically important referendum questions.
Tomorrow evening, October 20, I will address Albertans live at 6:45 p.m. to discuss the results of all referendum questions for which results are available, and where our province goes from here.

Residents in the energy-rich Canadian province of Alberta have voted by a margin of 76% to 23% to remain in Canada.
Trump almost certainly would have exploited a vote in favour of separation to advance his ambition of annexing Canada.
Among Canadians, the prospect of Canada becoming part of the United States is as unpopular as ever.

This guy is obsessed with anti-Semitism but here he is mocking someone for vandalizing a monument honoring a notorious nazi-collaborationist Ukrainian fascist anti-Semite. Curious.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that Roman Shukhevych was, in fact, a Nazi collaborator, as is documented extensively.
Comments like these show how much Kinney's idiotic stunt undermined the cause of pushing for historical truth.

Asked PM Mark Carney if he's comfortable with the military investigating itself at CFB Wainwright? He said "absolutely."
"Look, the military wants to get to the bottom of what happened...They're supported as well by the RCMP," Carney said.

There are legitimate debates to be had over journalistic ethics, such as, 'can I interview my friend who's a subject matter expert' or 'can I accept free food at an event I'm covering?'
This is not one of those cases.

Alternative universe where Duncan says yes I did it and Nazis are bad and journalists aren’t neutral and it’s still very stupid but not HARMFUL and MANIPULATIVE and giving ammunition to EPS and fascists

What the fuck man. Fundraised off lies and manipulation and did harm to journalism and community. I defended him bc I really did not think anyone could be that stupid esp a father who seemed to care about “progressive journalism”
