There are 19,000 private equity funds in the U.S. and this is how all of them are named

"There are 19,000 PE funds in the US. There are 14,000 McDonald's in the US. How are there more PE funds than McDonald's? ...and by the way, they're all not created equal. So the spread between the best managers and the kind of mediocre third quartile managers are over 1400 basis points of dispersion. If you look in public equities, for that same spread, it's 200 to 300 basis points. So what does that tell you? It tells you the who matters more than the what,the people and the managers that you choose"

I know a lot of very average people who make phenomenal money simply because they aren’t insecure.
They are confident enough in themselves and their own abilities to move forward regardless of other people’s opinions.
They aren’t afraid to make an ask, do some marketing to drum up business, or hop on the phone to spend a few days or weeks cold calling folks when business gets slow.
They don’t spend time feeling sorry for themselves if some of their calls or campaigns don't work out.
They don't waste days or weeks second guessing their strategy or over-analyzing what someone said to them last week in an email or on the phone.
They just move forward and keep taking action.
