1/ Happy to see this collaborative work w/ Fangzhu Zhao, @realJimWells & colleagues now published in @PNASNews!
LRP8-targeted KineTACs degrade LRP8, reduce GPX4 & other selenoproteins, and sensitize cancer cells to ferroptosis.

New preprint! We find that fatty acid double-bond geometry alters their metabolic fate and ferroptosis sensitivity. Trans fatty acids are metabolized differently from their cis counterparts, reshaping membrane phospholipids and ferroptosis sensitivity.

Happy to have contributed to this preprint with Fangzhu Zhao and @realJimWells! LRP8-targeted bispecific antibody degraders degrade the selenium uptake receptor LRP8, reduce GPX4 / selenoproteins, and sensitize cancer cells to ferroptosis.

Excited to share our new study out in @NatureCellBio! Led by postdoc @MikeLangePhD, we identify the first #LipidDroplet lipid quality control pathway: LD-localized FSP1 protects stored lipids from oxidative damage and prevents LD-initiated #ferroptosis.

My lab's first paper is out in @Nature. We show that lipoprotein uptake protects tumors from ferroptosis by delivering the lipid antioxidant α-tocopherol. Surprisingly, tumors use sulfated glycosaminoglycans—not canonical receptors—to capture lipoproteins. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

Exciting new work from @looogannn & Scott Dixon in @nchembio! Tegavivint, a clinical-stage drug, triggers a novel lipid-dependent nonapoptotic cell death via TECR and palmitate synthesis. Very cool! 🤩
