New paper finds #marsupials had diverse #diets, and achieved this diversity earlier in the #Cretaceous than other #mammal groups. The authors apply #DentalTopography to 71 extinct members of #Metatheria, finding they had more diverse #ecology than other #LateCretaceous #mammals.

Pls, I'm begging you, please check in with your grad students. It's been 2 years of stress and chaos. Some of them have never experienced grad school in "normal" times, and none of them are doing "well". Reach out.

A bit delayed, but now that everything is submitted and finalized, it’s feeling more real. A few weeks ago, I successfully defended my PhD! I’m still overwhelmed by how many people attended and by all the love and support from everyone.
Lots of people to thank, but special thanks to my advisor @gpwilson11, the @Wilson_KPg_Lab lab, the @UWBiology community, all my amazing friends, and, of course, my family. Thanks for everything!! I don’t know what’s next, but I’m looking forward to it #PhDone #finallyPhinisheD
Congrats @freewillie643! Below is an awesome thread he put together about our new paper that’s now out. Taphonomy and fossil regurgitates from Egg Mountain 🥚🗻🦖🐀!! Excited to be a part of this study!
Happy to share our new study—a #taphonomy & #tracefossil double whammy—on potential troodontid regurgitalites (fossil regurgitates!!) from #EggMountain, out in @ThePalAss Palaeontology. Wonderful, grotesque art here by @montanastate student Clarissa Koos. 1/10

Yoooooo it's #NationalNewJerseyDay!!!
Did you know that New Jersey played a major role in early paleontology? Hadrosaurus foulkii of the Woodbury formation in Haddonfield was the world's first mounted dinosaur skeleton and first North American dinosaur identified. @NJGov
Amazing new research out about lichen recovery after wildfires, and how this may affect caribou. Reminded me of the latest episode of The Wild podcast with @MorganWildlife. I had no idea that caribou eat lichen—so cool!
Can we predict lichen biomass recovery following boreal #wildfires? A co-led article with @ruthjgee and I as first authors, coauthors @forestecogrp, @jfjohnstone, @eliotmcintire, @n_j_day, @mariovantelgen, @ATruch, @queenofpeat and others @ESAEcosphere bit.ly/3aBD6dr a🧵
