Our advocacy manager @Chloe_chc_25 carries a Ā£100,000 Hong Kong police bounty ā just like those targeted by the the Chinese Communist Party spy ring operating out of Hong Kong's London trade office.
In today's @thetimes, she calls for the U.K. government to close the spy hub with immediate effect:
"The security minister, @DanJarvisMBE, often says that the British government 'will not tolerate' transnational repression. If that is true, then Londonās Hong Kong trade office must be closed without delay."

Welcome news as two men are found guilty of spying and working for the Chinese Communist Party under the Conservativesā landmark National Security Act,
But a successful prosecution means nothing when the broader policy is appeasement. You canāt prosecute spies with one hand and roll out the red carpet for Beijing with the other.
Deterrence requires a Government willing to call out Beijing threats and confront them - until that happens we will remain vulnerable.
