Earlier this year, our team sat down with author Clara Törnvall in anticipation of her newest novel, The Autist’s Guide to the Galaxy.
We discuss her creative process, social discourse surrounding the book, and her thoughts on evolving cultural attitudes towards autism.

Colleagues in the US! I’m looking for information about the going rates for translation among US publishers. I know there’s a whole thing about price fixing but any pointers are most welcome. So far, I’ve found the 2017 Authors Guild survey. 🤓
Translators of Twitter! I want your best thoughts on (not?) translating dialect. What do you do? What have you read on the topic that was inspiring/helpful? Thanks!

“In war, mourning the loss of art, be it actual or anticipated, is not separate from mourning for the senseless disruption and destruction of human life. To live is to build, to repair, to illuminate, to leave traces in the fabric of time and space.”
For the wonderful @LAReviewofBooks, I wrote about the fragility of glass and of people in war, about what survives and what breaks, and about my father's stained glass in Lviv. With tremendous thanks to @BorisDralyuk, who's the kindest editor I know. lareviewofbooks.org/short-ta…
