My first husband had glioblastoma, which was a nightmare, but I think my second husband went through more hell with Type 2 diabetes. You are doing a public service by posting this, my friend, and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this wretched disease.

Taylor, I hope everyone reads this. Diabetes was a nightmare for my husband. Not only did his kidneys fail, he dealt with horrendous diabetic wounds on his feet. If not for an amazing vascular surgeon, he would have lost his leg instead of “only” part of his feet.

I also urge everyone to get a checkup and bloodwork done yearly. My husband didn’t, and one day he woke up and couldn’t feel his feet. His Type 2 diabetes was advanced, and his kidneys soon failed. He was on dialysis, while waiting in vain for a kidney, for the rest of his life.

Repeating myself, but I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the Royal Bedchamber!
