Many of the works that define the modern physical infrastructure of NY were built during his terms, and ironically have provided billions in contracts to today’s real estate and finance interests - who make the same criticisms of @ZohranKMamdani as their earlier counterparts.
Born with a foreign sounding name of immigrant parents (there’s a Broadway show tune in which he’s depicted spelling out his name as he campaigns for Mayor), anyone who appreciates the city’s history can discern the outline of LaGuardia’s footsteps alongside the path that ZM walks today.

I agree with everything he says. I don’t blame China, I blame our corrupt Government for allowing it to happen, for designing it to happen, so they could get rich.

In this moving video, many students - Jews, Arabs, and others - hold a joint Passover Seder, a Feast of Liberty for all, calling for an end to the war and the occupation. This wonderful event happens at no place other than Columbia University, which in recent days has been libelled in the Israeli media as the stronghold of campus antisemitism in the U.S. This is the definitive proof that opposition to successive Israeli governments' abominable policies towards the Palestinians is not antisemitism, and that when there is no proper argument against the protesters, opponents resort to slander and lies.
Unmistakably, there also exist critics of Israel who are blatantly antisemitic, lying, or ignorant, who must be forcefully resisted. But this is not the case.
My thanks and blessings to the protesters against the massacre in Gaza who support peace and justice for all.

I wish I could share move videos. But the internet is still down and our sat connections are struggling. Another important point: we have seen no aid distribution. Nothing. We’ve seen military here and lots of electricity crews. But people here need basics: food and water.

It’s the side of refusing to dehumanize an entire group of people believing that if you mix with them and give them equality it’s somehow putting your life at risk. I fought this mentality during the pandemic when many believed mixing with “the unvaccinated” would kill their grandmothers. As a mixed race person, I would have fought this in the 60’s when the idea of desegregation with people like me would bring about the end of civil society. I fight this now when I hear vitriol hatred spewed by people who think giving people humanity and dignity and mixing with them would be the end. The reality is, thinking of “we can’t mix” is the single most dangerous ideology known to man. You are on the wrong side of history every 👏🏼single 👏🏼 time 👏🏼 if you genuinely hold onto this thinking.
