There is something called Sifuna Mashinani,
Let me tell you,
It is the silent wave sweeping Kenya right now.
Random groups and individuals simply decide to sell Sifuna.
A father suddenly assembles the family and begin to tell them about Sifuna,
A pastor decides to panctuate his sermon with Sifuna,
Foreman decides to explain something about Sifuna during chapati choma session.
This wave.....this wave will take us to Statehouse
Sifuna is vying for the presidency in 2027,,,, Wetangula can wait till 2032 for all we care. Why is he bitter 😭😭😭
There is something profoundly embarrassing about a man of Wetang’ula’s political standing descending into such pedestrian talk over a proper leader like Edwin Sifuna.
In his own words:
“Mimi niko karibu kuwa Rais 2032 alafu mbwa (SIFUNA) ingine inataka kupita mbele kuniharibia ndoto yangu ya kuwa Rais wa Kenya. Nilisikia mwingine akisema ‘yetu ni yetu’ kwani mimi ni wa nani? Pia mimi ni Mluhya kama Sifuna,” – Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
First, the comparison is blasphemous. Edwin Sifuna is not merely another politician competing for political relevance. He represents a growing people's movement, a generational demand for accountable leadership and a political project whose momentum is rooted in public conviction, not the private ambitions of political brokers.
Wetang’ula should be the last person lecturing anyone about presidential ambition. His long political career has not translated into a compelling national presidential constituency. Occupying the third-highest office in the Republic does not automatically confer presidential stature, popular legitimacy or the political capital required to lead a nation.
And this business of reminding Kenyans that he is a Luhya, as though shared ethnicity automatically entitles him to Sifuna's political constituency, is particularly pedestrian. Sifuna's appeal is not a tribal inheritance. It is a national political phenomenon built on conviction, courage, constitutionalism and an ability to articulate the frustrations of ordinary Kenyans.
Nobody owes Wetang’ula a political inheritance. Neither does Sifuna need to dim his political light to accommodate another man's unfulfilled presidential fantasy.
If Wetang’ula genuinely believes he has what it takes to become President in 2032, he should sell that ambition to Kenyans instead of throwing tantrums over a younger politician whose political relevance appears to trouble him immensely.
Remind the grumpy, bitter old man that his political prime is long behind him.
Wivu itauwa watu hapa mbele. 🤣

WE WERE KENYANS WHEN YOU NEEDED OUR VOTES, BUT WHY ARE WE BUKUSU WHEN WE DEMAND OUR TURN?
The day we stood with Kenyatta,
We were patriots, united in our agenda.
We defended the nation with pride,
And stood together, side by side.
But now that we say, let fairness prevail,
You call us Bukusu, as if Kenya has failed!
For twenty-four years, we stood with Moi,
Through every season, through every joy.
We voted, we trusted, we played our part,
With Kenya engraved deep in our heart.
But now that our turn is knocking at the door,
You call us Bukusu, nothing more?
In 2002, we stood with Kibaki,
Though another son had led before him already.
We voted as Kenyans, with hope in our eyes,
Believing in unity beneath Kenyan skies.
But now that we ask for our rightful turn,
Suddenly, our tribe is all you discern!
We stood with Uhuru, we stood with Ruto,
Through political storms, we remained true.
We celebrated Kenya, we defended the land,
Never demanded power by tribal command.
But now that we say our son deserves a chance,
You call us Bukusu and fuel tribal intolerance!
BUT HERE IS THE TRUTH YOU MUST UNDERSTAND:
Call us Bukusu, call us whatever you may,
You cannot silence a people who have something to say.
You can throw insults, you can spread division,
But you cannot bury a people's political ambition.
We are not asking for power by force,
We are asking for fairness in Kenya's political course.
No tribe owns State House, no community owns the throne,
The presidency of Kenya belongs to all, not a few alone.
From the mountain to the valley, from the coast to the lake,
A new generational wave is rising in its wake.
The young are awake, the old are asking why,
A different political future is beginning to fly.
And whether you agree or disagree with the direction,
SIFUNA IS AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME!
An idea of change, an idea of hope,
An idea that gives a new generation room to cope.
Let history judge us, let the people decide,
Let democracy be our shield and our guide.
We want a Kenya where every tribe can lead,
Where justice and fairness are more than words we read.
Long live Kenya!
Long live political equality!
Long live generational change!
Long live Edwin W. Sifuna !

Even without the kikuyu shirt, Sifuna connected with the crowd very much.
