Yttrium isn’t a household name.
But it’s critical to jet-engine coatings, power systems and semiconductor manufacturing.

The refining opportunity starts upstream.
American Resources’ EMCO (@electrifiedmat) has signed a binding LOI to acquire Blackion, strengthening the pathway from battery recycling and feedstock sourcing to advanced critical mineral refining.
Together, Blackion + EMCO + ReElement (@ReElementTech) can help move battery-derived materials—including LFP—through processing, separation and purification and back into domestic and allied supply chains.
The goal: recover more lithium and other critical minerals at high purity while building a stronger, more integrated U.S. supply chain.

The conversation around the new U.S. #blackmass requirements is getting louder as we move from policy to execution.
With more #blackmass expected to remain in the U.S., one of the most important questions is:
🔹Do we have the right domestic processing capacity to handle it?
Capacity is not simply about adding facilities. It means having the right technology, throughput, commercial structure, logistics and downstream pathways in place at the right time and in the right locations.
For recyclers, aggregators, manufacturers and other market participants, that raises important questions:
🔹Where can material be processed domestically today?
🔹Where are capacity constraints likely to emerge?
🔹What does a scalable processing pathway look like?
🔹How can new capacity be developed in step with actual market demand?
American Resources' wholly owned subsidiary, Electrified Materials Corporation (@electrifiedmat) is positioned to help address these needs.
We are actively sourcing #blackmass and working with market participants to identify practical domestic pathways based on real material flows and real customer needs.
Our approach is to understand the material, the volume and the commercial requirements, then work collaboratively to determine the right path forward.
The domestic battery materials supply chain is being reshaped, and Electrified Materials is ready to collaborate with industry partners to build efficient and sustainable solutions.
If you have #blackmass looking for a domestic pathway, let’s talk. Please reach out to Chris Dreska, CEO Electrified Materials at [email protected].

How important is equilibrium stages in rare earth separation?
Equilibrium stages are one of the most important concepts in rare earth separation because they determine how efficiently chemically similar rare earth elements can be separated from one another. Whether you’re using solvent extraction, chromatography, ion exchange, or another separation process, the process is fundamentally about repeatedly allowing elements to reach equilibrium between two phases.
Here’s why equilibrium stages matter:
Rare earths have extremely similar chemistry. Adjacent elements such as neodymium (Nd) and praseodymium (Pr), or dysprosium (Dy) and terbium (Tb), have only very small differences in their chemical behavior. A single equilibrium stage usually provides only a modest amount of separation.
Purity depends on the number of effective stages. Each equilibrium stage increases the concentration of the desired element while rejecting impurities. The higher the required purity (99%, 99.9%, 99.99%+), the more effective stages are generally required.
Stage efficiency is just as important as stage count. A process with fewer but highly efficient equilibrium stages can outperform a process with many inefficient stages. Engineers often refer to this as the number of theoretical stages or height equivalent to a theoretical plate (HETP) in chromatographic systems.
Solvent Extraction
Traditional solvent extraction relies on:
Hundreds to thousands of mixer-settlers or extraction stages.
Small separation factors between adjacent rare earths.
Large volumes of organic solvents and acids.
Long residence times and significant plant footprints.
Because each stage provides only incremental separation, commercial rare earth plants often require very large cascades of equipment.
Chromatography
Chromatography also relies on equilibrium, but in a different way.
Instead of hundreds of individual mixer-settlers, a chromatographic column contains thousands to tens of thousands of microscopic equilibrium interactions between the liquid phase and the stationary resin as the solution travels through the column.
This offers several advantages:
Very high effective stage density within a relatively compact column.
Better mass transfer and sharper separation bands.
Reduced chemical consumption compared with conventional solvent extraction.
Easier modular scaling by adding parallel production trains rather than building increasingly complex extraction cascades.
Scaling
One interesting aspect of well-designed chromatography systems is that scaling to larger commercial columns does not necessarily reduce separation performance. If the system maintains:
uniform flow distribution,
consistent bed packing,
appropriate residence time,
and controlled operating conditions,
then larger columns can maintain similar—or in some cases even improve—their effective theoretical stage performance while significantly increasing throughput.
Bottom line
Equilibrium stages are essentially the “currency” of rare earth separation. Every commercial process must create enough effective equilibrium interactions to distinguish elements that differ only slightly in chemical properties.
The competitive advantage between different technologies is often not whether they use equilibrium—they all do—but how efficiently they generate effective equilibrium stages, how much chemical and energy input is required, how easily the process scales, and what purity and recovery can be achieved at commercial production rates.

Our focus over the course of the next twelve months are clear.
Focus on feedstock aggregation and investment into critical mineral / rare earth mines in Africa, Southeast Asia and coal based concentrates in the United States (minimal mining costs and the source where China produces 60%+ of their Germanium).
After 5 years of hard work we have received a proposal from Department of Energy for $10 million to further expand this opportunity in West Virginia.
Lastly, focused on attracting top talent to drive business forward.
Our investment and partnership with @ReElementTech is paramount and a foundational technology.
@electrifiedmat our focus is to list publically and then over time distribute shares to underlying shareholders on a quarterly basis as board approves.
Our holdings in @royaltymgmtcorp $RMCO we believe are undervalued based on peers and excited for their growth and execution
