For those who don't know; the name Ottawa comes from the Algonquin word Adàwe, meaning "to trade."
Where Ottawa is now was a major trading hub for Indigenous folks from all over Turtle Island and accessible by waterways and is still unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin territory.
