ALT An information panel describing how at the beginning of the 20th century ice cream parlours became linked with vice and immorality. In Presbyterian Scotland ice cream was considered an unnecessary luxury and Sunday opening was frowned upon. Young people could be seen smoking, dancing and even kissing, leading, obviously, to their moral downfall.
