Most cities have this, but they charge you extra for it. Same train, same stop, same infrastructure, but somehow the fare triples if you exit at the airport. Has to be one of the most illogical things ever. Not whining, just trying to understand the economics behind it. In Sydney, for example, your total public transport fares are capped at around $18 on a weekday, irrespective of how many times you board public transport. But if you choose to exit at the airport, you pay an extra $20. For two people, that’s over $60 in total, and you still have to carry your luggage. A taxi from where I live would cost around $70 to $80 and take you directly to the airport, without changing trains or dragging your luggage around. So what’s the logic here? Can someone explain the economics around it ? Or authorities are just reta*ded everywhere…

I don’t think these guys have yet realised how badly this UGC amendment is gonna hurt their chances among their core voters, specifically in the dehat of UP. All this cockroach or Election Commission issue is just a social media creation and would be limited to social media. It won’t affect a single vote more than JNU protests used to do earlier. Let’s say it does. Who’s gonna cash in on it, Rahul Gandhi? Someone who has never won elections and has no experience in public office. UGC, on the other hand, is an issue that directly affects 20–25% of voters in UP, most of whom vote for you in large numbers. And there are opponents with substantial political experience who start elections with an almost 10–15% lead among voters from their own castes, plus M voters at the very least.
