For every problem Nigerians are currently facing, there is a group of people benefiting from it. These problems are not always the result of incompetence or poor governance alone; some are deliberately sustained because certain people profit from the dysfunction. As long as those benefiting from the system remain in positions of influence, meaningful change will remain elusive.

A society cannot continuously produce poverty and expect its citizens to escape it through hard work alone. Sometimes the problem is not the individual. It is the economic environment in which that individual is forced to operate.

Any society where bad behaviour carries no consequences will inevitably become a breeding ground for criminals. When people know they can break the rules without facing repercussions, lawlessness becomes the norm.

turns out that uninstalling instagram and not knowing what everyone is up to 24/7, is indeed good for your mental health.

Do you want to know how China got rid of corruption? Death sentences! Do you know how Singapore dealt with corrupt politicians? Through death! Any other means of fighting corruption is useless! A country cannot win the war against corruption when thieves know they can steal billions and walk away laughing.

A Lagosian who hasn’t seen light for 10 days will trek through smelly streets, dodging like a thousand street thugs, to jump on a bus with wooden seats, & still have the audacity to tell someone living in ABK or Ib that they are living in a village.

Snoop Dogg explained in 80 seconds why men stopped approaching women.
Do men not shoot their shot anymore because social media turned dating into a simulation?
Snoop says yes, and his reason is better than the usual “phones ruined everything” take.
In his era, getting with someone took real effort. You had to look at her, talk to her, get her to like you, and know her parents and how she moved. You had to get involved before you could get involved.
Now it’s a couple of pictures and a couple of lines, and people expect something real from a few typed words.
The part I found most interesting is his point about texting. A text gives you what he’s typing, not what he’s saying. “You look good today” can read as sweet or creepy depending on the mood of the person reading it. Text has no tone, face or feeling to go with it.
Approaching someone in person is hard on purpose. It makes you learn to read people, handle a no, and become someone worth talking to. When you skip that, you also skip what it would have taught you.
What he calls the cheat code ended up costing men the skill.
