It’s mad that I am actuality saying this, but as a Brit, I’ll be standing with #Canada, #Mexico, #Denmark and #Panama, and most of the rest of the World *against* the US.
I’ll be avoiding US goods and brands as much as I can.

I miss this man's amazing talent and being able to see him perform. Blessed that I've seen him live many times but still sad that he left us so young and that he would have had so much more to offer. #DavidBowie #eightyears #starman

@AirbnbHelp please can you put in place a UK team to deal with the UK enquiries in UK working hrs. When we reply to messages in UK time your reps don't reply until the middle of the night which means queries take days to resolve instead of hours. @Airbnb @bchesky #hopeless

I have made in excess of 50 complaints, you have done nothing. You have the worst customer service of any company of have ever dealt with. Cases are closed within minutes of the complaint being made without any action being taken. @airbnb_au
A truly amazing man who has left a gaping hole in this world.
Wow, what a story. ❤️
He died in his sleep from cardiac arrest at the age of 53, on December 25, 2016.
Hundreds of thousands of people are still alive thanks to him.
Only after the singer's death did it become known that he had spent millions to help orphans, the homeless, the sick, and foreigners in need.
One time, a contestant on the TV show "The Deal" said during the break that she needed $15,000 for an invitro procedure.
The next day, George Michael called and secretly transferred the entire amount to her name.
“George Michael worked anonymously at a homeless shelter where I volunteered,” one TV presenter said. “I didn't tell anyone this because he asked us not to tell anyone. That's who he used to be."
"A woman at a children's charity told me the only reason they're still around is because of George Michael,” one friend said.
Kate Vogue: "Every Easter when Chris Tarrant and I hosted the 'Capital FM' children's charity event, George Michael would turn up at 3.30am and donate $100,000."
One time, he gave $25,000 to an unknown woman in a cafe because cried because of the debt.
He wrote a check and asked the waitress to give it to the woman after she left."
At one point, he organized a free concert for the nurses who took care of his late mother.
He has passed on, but his millions saved hundreds of thousands of children.

I was reliving my past watching this. I had to stop many times just to stop myself from breaking down. I am so glad our stories are finally being heard. I hope my family and friends will finally believe me & I can walk with my head held high again.

Retweet/like if you think we should start a petition to get Paula Vennells CBE removed?
If there's enough interest I think we should, least we can do for those that have suffered

Alan Bates turned down an OBE as Paula Vennells, the woman in charge of the Post Office through the Horizon Scandal, retains her CBE and refuses to give it back.
A man of honour 🙏🏼❤️

Alan, 69: “The first thing that sprang to my mind while reading the letter (offering me an OBE) was Paula Vennells still had a CBE. I felt so deeply insulted. She presided over a policy of harassing hundreds of innocent people. It’s not just that the Government hasn’t asked her to return it. What’s even worse is that despite knowing the strength of feeling about it, how people have suffered and some cases died on her watch – she doesn’t feel inclined to give it back.”
Alan accepted a @PrideOfBritain award in 2023.
We were over the moon to give that to him.

“Today my daughter changed her profile picture. After maybe 5 minutes I get a text..” I didn’t know she was dating a black boy, did you?
It took me all day to think up a response, which I didn’t send personally but thought I would share for anyone else that “may not know”
Yes in fact I did know, but the color of his skin doesn’t define who he is. What does define who is he is how he treats my daughter.
I see my daughter dating a boy that comes to my house and shows me nothing but respect (a big deal in my book).
It’s always Yes Ma’am, No Ma’am, we talk about football and baseball, he tells me bye when he leaves, and has not once shown me a lack of manners or respect.
I see my daughter dating a boy who treats her good. He takes her on dates, to ballgames, out to eat..not to a club or partying on the weekends.
I see my daughter dating a boy who takes her to church with him. Every Sunday. He plays in the band, she sits with his family. How many young men these days make church a priority?
None of the others have.
He doesn’t hit her, cuss her, lie to her, or make her cry. Would I rather her date a white boy that did, to keep from her dating another race? Absolutely not.
So that’s my response to the question I was asked.
And I know people have their own opinion, but at the end of the day, the fact that my daughter has someone that loves her and treats her like a queen makes me happy. That’s something I’ve never had in my life and I’m glad she does.”

I'd forgotten just what a talented & brilliant entertainer Liberace is. My grandmother would have loved watching this tonight! #LiberaceInConcert #BBC4 #diamondsandpearls #Nanna #thegoodolddays
Watched 2 episodes of #BoatStory on #BBCiPlayer hoping 2nd episode would redeem itself. Brilliant cast, awful gratuitous violence. Not for the squeamish. Black comedy that is in no way funny. Shame on you @BBC1 spending our money to show such violence on a Sunday evening!
