If you’re considering financing vs leasing, you’re probably better off leasing.
Leasing is simple:
You pay the difference between the sale price and the residual value with interest.
Residual values are the bank's forecasted depreciation.
The interest you pay is represented as a money factor, for example, .00235.
The interest on a lease is usually higher than a purchase since the bank is taking on additional risk in the form of an option (residual), regardless of the market conditions at lease end.
Long story short:
If the residual value is higher than reality and the interest you’ll pay for the option is worth it, lease the car.
Here’s a simple money factor to APR calculation example: .00235 x 2400 = 5.64
Obviously, there’s additional nuance, but you shouldn’t make it more complicated.

Four automakers are responsible for 84.6% of Q3 recalls (according to NHTSA data):
The culprits?
Tesla (*OTA updates only*): 1.8 million vehicles affected
Chrysler: 1.6 million
BMW: 1.5 million
GM: 520,000
Basically — more tech-advanced vehicles (and regulatory oversight) = higher chance of recalls.

All I can say is WOW.
Just finished speaking with Doug Eroh, President of Longo Toyota.
Longo is the biggest Toyota dealership in the WORLD.
How big?
— The dealership has a Starbucks and DMV on-premises and its own exit off the highway!
— The guy has 6,000 deposits on Toyotas right NOW.
— Some of his salespeople speak 30+ languages. (You read that correctly)
It gets even better...
Doug is so crazy about customer experience, that he ran a process to determine what's the right type of toilet paper they should use in their dealership bathrooms (I confirmed it's not 1-ply).
This episode on the @CDG_Podcast is going to break people's brains.
It's so good... Stay tuned
