Spent the weekend at a young nature writers' retreat in the New Forest.
It was a privilege to learn useful writing tips, meet like-minded young naturalists and speak about the practicalities of being a writer.
Thank you to the Cameron Bespolka Trust for an inspiring weekend!

On Friday, we welcomed Roger for his talk on nature writing and his experiences in the field. It was interesting to hear Roger’s unique perspective, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed his talk. This was an excellent opening to the weekend – thank you Roger! @RogerMGwriter

In his wonderful book Singing like Larks @AndrewMillham has a chapter Be More Owl. On a break in N Norfolk we were delighted to watch Barn Owls flying over Thornham Marsh. A real treat, just like Andrew's book.

🎵 Join us next Tuesday to hear about the composer Ralph Vaughan Williams and the folk songs he collected in Essex.
'Bushes and Briars' was the first folk song Vaughan Williams collected in the county. This performance was recorded in 1988 at Blackmore Folk Club (SA 30/6/10/1).

Spent an absolutely wonderful day with @AndrewMillham by the Thames Estuary. It’s a remarkable landscape, rich in history, culture and biodiversity, and Andrew has an extensive knowledge of it. At Two Tree Island we heard a Nightingale - I’m happy to be corrected if it isn’t!
