The updated code of practice for services, public functions and associations has been laid before Parliament. The guidance tells organisations how they should approach trans inclusion.
Here’s what that means 👇

“Genocide is usually the result of a gradual development, sometimes over many years,
of conditions that lay the groundwork for a repressive and discriminatory regime to turn genocidal ...
Throughout its existence, the Israeli regime has laid legal, social, and political foundations that are recognized in history and research preconditions enabling genocide (when combined with other circumstances...three features of the Israeli regime that laid the foundation for a shift toward a policy of destroying Palestinian society and committing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip: the apartheid regime, including separation, demographic engineering, and ethnic cleansing; dehumanization and conceptualization of Palestinians as an existential threat to Israelis; and the systemic and institutionalized use of violence against Palestinians, carried out with de facto impunity for the perpetrators.”

The government was forced to admit the EHRC’s transphobic draft guidance got it wrong, and they’ve had to send it back.
But the fight is far from over. They plan to bring an updated version back to parliament in May. So we need to act – fast 👇

£114m wasted on undelivered Covid contracts – guess where that money's going? 👀💸

ITV’s The Covid Contracts: Follow the Money shows how government went from no PPE to mountains of it with huge contracts handed to firms with little to no track record.
Our director Jo Maugham explains Good Law Project’s role in exposing the VIP lane.
Speechless. Incredibly a Kent police spokeperson told @guardian: “Under the Terrorism Act it is a criminal offence to carry or display items that may arouse reasonable suspicion that an individual is a member or supporter of a proscribed organisation such as Palestine Action.”
What about this video, should sharing this really be a terrorism offence?
“Palestine Action has never hurt people. They only hurt machinery which produces the instruments of war. So the worst you can say about what they did is vandalism. But you can’t say that they are terrorists."
Professor Avi Shlaim, the British-Israeli historian and author, has condemned the British government’s decision to proscribe @Pal_action under the Terrorism Act, and offered his full support for the activists.
Whether you support everything in this video or not, does anyone really believe that I should face 14 years in jail for sharing it?

I just voted against proscribing Palestine Action, a civil disobedience group, as a terrorist organisation. But I'm furious that in doing so, the government forced me and others to vote against proscribing two other clearly terrorist groups. Cynical and dangerous from govt.

Parliament in a nutshell:
Yesterday MPs, including Yvette Cooper, celebrated the suffragette legacy of civil disobedience that won women the right to vote..
Only to then vote to designate non-violent direct action group Palestine Action as terrorists.
Westminster is broken.

The use of the Terrorism Act to proscribe Palestine Action is disproportionate and sets a dangerous precedent.

Delighted to have contributed with amazing authors to this peer-reviewed paper highlighting deep methodological flaws in the Cass report
Far too often this is upheld as a perfect example of evidence based medicine, when in truth there are clear and worrying inconsistencies
