I’m confused why people believe -> “a Salary Cap would fix the MLB”.
#Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner is a complete idiot, & a gutless cake-eater -> the only reason he’s pushing for one is because his franchise has lost:
A. It’s spending power supremacy -> when his Dad was King.
B. “#Yankees tradition” no longer has the same influence in recruiting top talent -> which they had with George.
He’s pushing for the “Salary Cap” because it provides multiple immediate tactical advantages to the #Yankees:
1. It lowers potential competition for several key offensive players hitting free agency -> starting from 2028 thru 2030
2. It positions them to regain a competitive advantage recruiting free agents if they’re competing for the same player & their competition is a small-market team.
3. It severely disrupts the operating model for their biggest rivals in a multitude of ways -> especially the #Mets.
<-> If you sign multiple players to big $ contracts -> teams then will have trouble retaining homegrown talent.
<-> if you commit to a full-blown youth movement, it takes teams longer to get all the right pieces in place & god forbid you do, you then have to pick & choose who is retained.
It feels like Hal’s still butt-hurt #Mets signed Juan Soto & feels Cohen reneged on a “good ol’ boy agreement”, which secured Hal’s “yes” vote -> during Cohen’s acquisition of the franchise
That rumored “agreement” is why Steve Cohen never even looked in Aaron Judge’s direction -> during the winter of 2022
You notice how much easier it was for them to retain Judge, when their only real competition was the #SFGiants.
Had an agreement not been in place -> Cohen would’ve made sure to sign Judge over retaining Nimmo, & leave enough payroll flexibility to pursue Juan Soto after the 2024 season.
MLB doesn’t have a “Salary Cap” problem.
MLB has a “salary deferral” created by Shohei Ohtani, who knew the only way he’d be able to boost his revenue from endorsements was if he won a World Series.
It’s long been known the largest endorsements go to players on teams that win championships -> that’s why Ohtani’s revenue from endorsements quickly grew from $30 million annually to $100 million annually during the 2025 season.
Ohtani’s endorsements estimated to be $125 Million annually during 2026 season -> only 4th player ever to reach $100M.
MLB’s biggest problem is its current FRAUD problem because of #Dodgers owner Mark Walter, which needs to be addressed swiftly & decisively.
Even if Ohtani & others didn’t defer the same portions of their salaries, there was nothing stopping Walter from injecting any amount of money he needed to execute the same strategy.
When you illegally invest TENS billions -> redirecting an extra 1-2 Billion to a specific asset would have been easy for him.
That’s why this is the biggest issue that needs to be fixed.
Guess they aren’t “smarter than everyone”…

I would never criticize #Brewers Pat Murphy -> I think he’s a phenomenal Manager, just a little surprised he didn’t have Misiorowski warming up after they burned Aaron Ashby.
When Managers have a chance to go for the series-clincher kill shot, more times than often than not -> throwing schedules are thrown out & the ACE is unleashed to close it.
I’m a little surprised they didn’t start him today -> knowing they had all their BIG GUNS in the bullpen available for 2 IP.
All they needed was 9 outs from MiZZ at the most -> that type of workload means he’d be available for Game 6 or 7.
Uribe - > 2 IP -> 0 ER
Ashby -> 2.1 -> 0 ER
Hall -> 1.2 -> 0 ER
They would’ve still had -> Trevor Megill for 2 IP as the “Alert 5” aircraft.
Great effort by the #TBRays -> incredible clutch hitting in the bottom of the 12th, despite multiple batters being behind in the count …
Greatest concentration of male ESTROGEN -> outside of the #Dodgers clubhouse…
WTF 😂
Utah #Jazz passed on Cameron Boozer for Darryn Peterson, despite having Ace Bailey who is the better player now & will be exponentially better after a couple years.
Jaren Jackson -> tore his MCL & is gone for at least 2 months.
They traded Walker Kessler
Markkanen is now banged up
That’s gotta sting…

This guy stole a baseball right out of an old man’s hands.
What makes it even worse is his attitude and the faces he makes.
How much more social social media hate will it take before Fox removes Davis & Smoltz from World Series coverage.
The last time Americans were this unified in their hatred, we went to war with England -> led by Mel Gibson & his 24 kids.
