Very sad to hear that Gen Stuart Watson MC has passed. He landed on Sword Beach on D-Day & served with the 13/18 Hussars all the way through to VE Day & continued in the Army post-war. Always really good to me, he was a lovely fellow, who lived a remarkable life. @AngusWatson13

The LRRG has been in the field for the last month conducting patrols as part of @UN_MINUSMA peacekeeping mission to protect local communities from violence. #UnitedNations @UKMilAd_UN @Gyllensporre @UNPeacekeeping @BritishArmy

ALT Soldiers from the LRRG patrol both dismounted and mounted through a village in the North East of Mali to speak to the locals to understand the issues and security threats they face. This is a key element to the reconnaissance mission out here in order to understand both the human and physical terrain.

As Lt Cav we use the speed and cross country ability of our vehicles to put us in the right place at the right time.
In Mali, the terrain is varied and challenging. But the LRRG's vehicles made up of Jackals, Coyotes and Fox Hounds are making easy work of it all.
