‼️ BREAKING ‼️
ANIMAL RISING SUPPORTER TO LIVE INSIDE FARROWING CRATE FOR 3 WEEKS
This morning, a farrowing crate was placed in Trafalgar Square. Replicating the time a mother pig would spend in one, Michelle Farnham, an Animal Rising Supporter, will live, eat, and sleep there, showing the reality of the life of a mother pig in factory farms.
In similar crates, the majority of mother pigs in the UK will be forced to give birth and try to raise their children. They can’t even turn around inside them.
This is just the beginning, later today the first undercover investigation of End Factory Farming will be dropping.

‼️ A sanctuary home is waiting for Luna. We’ve asked Red Court to release her, offering to donate £5,000 to farming mental health charity YANA if they agree, in recognition of the pressures farmers face. ‼️
We’ve yet to hear back, but the work to free Luna continues. Over 30,000 of you have signed the demand for her freedom.

🐖 We’re pulling back the covers, showing the lives that pigs in factory farms could have in freedom and nature. 🌱
They’re naturally social animals and, just like humans, figure out who is the boss and who isn’t. With enough space to roam and woodland to root and nest in, pigs are capable of figuring out their natural hierarchies.
But in factory farms, they’re trapped with no room to escape confrontation and bullying.

🐷 We’re still fighting to free Luna.
Ever since we first met her earlier this year, we knew that the world needed to see and hear her story. She is a mother; she desperately fights to raise her children and keep them safe.
But factory farming makes that impossible. It doesn’t have to be like this. There is a sanctuary space waiting for her right now, and you can make the difference.

🐷 We rescued three baby pigs, millions are still trapped.
Nova, Leila, and Maia are safely living out their happily ever after in a sanctuary, but for the animals still inside factory farms this is a long way away.
That’s the reality of animal factories and scale of suffering that pigs like Luna experience every single day. The solution?
End Factory Farming.

🐷Pigs existed in nature long before animal factories were even an idea.
Pigs like Luna, Renee, Leila, Nova, and Maia thrive in the outdoors, with space to run, play, nest, dig, and root.
To them, the freedom to run free and be in their natural space is everything. But animal factories take that away from them. A world without this pain and suffering is possible.

🐖 What if pigs were never meant to be in tiny cages…
Farrowing crates aren’t natural; they make it so a mother pig cannot turn around or properly care for her children.
Pigs like Luna want to root and nest in woodlands, not on slatted plastic floors. Factory farms take everything away from these mothers and children, again, and again, and again.
We could rescue three piglets, but millions more animals remain in factory farms across the UK.

Animal Rising retweeted
Our undercover investigation at Innovis’s pig farm in Burgh Castle has been covered across the BBC: on TV, online, and by Paul Hayes on BBC Radio Norfolk.
Animal Justice Project’s investigators filmed over 800 hours inside, recording the lives of pigs most people never see. That evidence led to former worker Steve Woolger pleading guilty to eight offences, and he has now been sentenced.
The farm was Red Tractor certified, and its boar semen was shipped across the UK to Red Tractor and RSPCA Assured farms. These labels are sold to shoppers as the gold standard. So what are they really assuring?
This story is bigger than one worker. For many people in Norfolk, this farm is local. It’s part of an industry that breeds, uses and sells animals as products, and it depends on that staying out of sight.
Animals are not ours to use. Thank you to the BBC for helping people see what goes on behind closed doors. 🐖

🐷 🐷 🐷 We Rescued Piglets 🐷 🐷 🐷
After weeks recording hidden camera footage inside Red Court Farm, we knew we had to try and rescue piglets from the conditions inside.
Maia, Leila, and Nova are now living their lives in the safety of a sanctuary. But thousands, just like Luna, remain.
We want to create the kind of world that we’re proud of, and that begins by ending factory farming.

⚠️ This is what the inside of an animal factory looks like.
Thousands of animals crammed into cages, mothers unable to turn around or protect their children, and the constant threat of piglets being ripped from their mothers.
That’s why we rescued Maia, Leila, and Nova from Red Court Farm. They’re now living happy lives in the freedom of a sanctuary.
But other animals aren’t so lucky; we need your help to end factory farming and that begins with freeing Luna.
