In a more healthy light. But until that day comes where we actually get a game that focuses on Amy and her development, her obsessive feelings for Sonic will always be played off as a joke.
And I hate that. And I'm glad they're striving to change it!
Just how much her love has evolved as her character has. Amy is much more mature in Frontiers, but it doesn't feel earned since she hasn't been a character with a lot of main focus in years.
Maybe in Amy's earlier years she was obsessed, and then grew to understand her feelings-
And thats beautiful and why I love her as a love character, BUT that doesn't mean she has to be obsessed over Sonic.
She does absolutely love him but it's not shown in a way (at least in the past) to be anything more than a gag.
I want future games to explore-
Her being obsessive over Sonic is a negative trait that could be explored in an interesting way. But the Sonic franchise (at least in the games so far) is not interested in showing how her obsession die down.
Ngl, its a missed opportunity for her character, but I don't hate it-
I believe I can still be a Sonic fan and wish better for a character that got her main trait from dated gender trope LOL
I can agree with that! She's not as loud or bubbly anymore and it doesn't feel like shes gone through proper development to justify that change
And that's where I disagree. She can absolutely still be head over heels for the guy and not have it be all she is.
Also, over the years, Amy and Sonic have progressed their relationship to be more comfortable around each other. So there really isn't even a reason TO chase
